2 Authentic Leadership in Ministry to Women Learn how to lead as an authentic follower of Christ, living and serving as God's bond-servant. Biblical Womanhood Led by Shelly Johns, EdD Shelly serves at the Kentucky Baptist Convention as the Women and Senior Adult Consultant. Her responsibilities include training others to share their faith, organizing events for women and helping churches implement women s ministries. She also organizes training and event opportunities for senior adults and assists churches in implementing senior adult ministries. Shelly loves encouraging people in their faith walk for and with Christ Jesus. Led by Page Hughes Biblical womanhood? What in the world does that mean? Come dive into God s Word to see what a woman in 2016 who loves Jesus with all of her heart ought to look like. She will probably never grace the front of the most recent magazine, but her face shines brightly. She walks in peace and joy, in right relationship with her God and ready for all He has in store for her. Page jokingly says she is an ordinary page. Her humor and transparency make her a popular speaker with women s groups. Her depth and understanding of God's Word make her talks not just memorable, but life changing. Page and Dr. Les Hughes have been married and in ministry for over 30 years. Les and Page have 2 grandchildren and 2 on the way! Their children are all in ministry and living on mission. Connecting to God's Power Source In order to be a useful tool in the hands of the Master, we need to stay connected to our spiritual power source. Learn how to stay connected daily to His endless power supply. Find out about spiritual networking and how to be part of it. Gain insight to be more strategic in your prayer life. Join us as we plug in to our all-powerful God! Dealing with Shame after Repentance We ve repented of our sin and we know we ve been forgiven by God. So why is it that we still struggle with thoughts of worry, doubt, fear, rejection, guilt, and shame? If God removes our sin as far as the east is from the west and truly remembers our sins no more, why do we then continue to carry that burden of guilt? Come learn how to trust that God removes our sin AND our shame! Led by Beth Morris Beth is a pastor s wife and has two grown children. She lives on a small farm and loves for you to ask about her critters. Recently she began free-lance writing for LifeWay and is working on her first assignment. She has a heart for missions and loves equipping ladies to grow in their faith. Led by Leah Pratt Leah Pratt has a Master of Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. She has ministered to teens for 18 years and counseled families in crisis for 10. Leah works as a high school Bible teacher at Heritage Christian School in Indianapolis and is pursuing certification as a biblical counselor. She also leads the youth and worship ministries at Calvary Heights Baptist Church in Martinsville. Leah s greatest passions are loving her husband and discipling women.
3 Do Business Till I Come The Second Coming of Jesus is imminent. So what are we doing in preparation for His arrival? Planning a celebration or party can be an arduous task unless we prepare wisely. What are we doing in anticipation for the coming of the King of all kings? Are we ready? Do Business Till I Come will share some practical ways we all can be ready! I'm fine. How are you? Is this the way we answer the question, How are you? Do we as Christian ladies put on our happy faces and pretend that everything is fine, even when it s not? We all struggle with difficult and stressful situations. The question is, to whom do we turn in times of difficulty? God has the answers to handling stress and heartache. Join us as we seek God s Word in our journey through the tough times of life. Praying with Power Beginning with the prayer Jesus gave in response to His disciples question of how to pray, we will examine and experience God s power unleased through prayer. This interactive session will encourage your time of prayer with the One who knows you, loves you and gently leads you. Standing Strong on Who You are in Christ We live in a world that stops at nothing to rob us of our identity in Christ, and it's time for us to fight back. Learn intentional principles to help you salvage your identity and restore it to what God designed. We will never live the abundant life of freedom in Christ without getting our identity right. It s time to stand firm against the attacks coming against us. Led by Amy Thorne Amy is a wife to a preacher, mother of three adult children, mother in law to two son in laws and a Mimi to one adorable granddaughter. She plays the drums for her church praise band and other occasional ministry opportunities. Just recently she accepted a part time legal secretary s job in her community. Life and church keep Amy hopping, but she really doesn t know any other way to do it. Led by Pam Moran Pam is a biblical counselor and founder of Living Hope Counseling Ministries, Inc. Pam has a BS in Biblical Counseling and Religious Education and is certified through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors. Living Hope Counseling Ministry was founded to help hurting people find hope and healing in Christ. Pam and her husband Shawn are members of Parkside Baptist Church in Columbus, IN. They have been married 31 years and have two children, Kelley 29 and John 24. Led by Doris Whidden Doris was raised a preacher s daughter and was saved when she was seven years old. At the age of 17 she married her high school sweetheart, Mitchell. They have been married for 52 years and have five children, 18 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. Doris currently serves as a WMU leader at Fellowship Baptist Church in Hardinsburg. She enjoys going on mission trips, participating in her church s music program, cooking and teaching private piano lessons to several students. Led by Rachel Lovingood Rachel serves as Women s Ministry trainer for LifeWay. Her sense of humor and her love for the Word make her a favorite with women. Using everyday situations to relate Bible truths, she shares her passion for people to be transformed by the Word of God and experience abundant life by surrendering to Him. She and her husband Jeff have three children, two of whom are married. Rachel enjoys keeping active with her family, as well as writing and speaking to communicate God s transforming power.
4 Transforming Our Family with the Mindset of Christ Do you sometimes feel like you're struggling to be a godly wife, mom or daughter? Do you feel like giving up on your family or your marriage? You are not alone! If you need some encouragement and some biblical wisdom and insight on marriage, parenthood and family life, then this is the breakout session you should attend. See how the Word encourages us to live lives of humility and service. We will pray together and gain practical tips about how to serve Jesus as wives, mothers and godly women. Using God Given Influence As Christians we are called to reach those around us. It seems like Christians look a lot like the world instead of being the light in a dark world. This breakout will give you some practical ways to help you influence those you come into contact on a daily, monthly, annually or even once in your lifetime. Walking the Tightrope with Grace Sometimes life can feel like you are part of a circus act. You struggle to walk the tightrope of life while juggling the responsibilities of family, work, church and more. In this session, we are going to have some fun addressing how to find balance in our lives and discover what God has to teach us from His Word. We will find out together how to walk on the tightrope of life with His grace and strength. What One Woman Can Do News flash! You can change the world without your Wonder Woman cape, despite your busy schedule, and without crossing an ocean. Hear how one transformed woman has helped transform others. You, too, can make a difference. Take the challenge. Step out in faith. Learn how you can become a change agent in today s world! Let God use you, and experience the sweet blessings of seeing lives transformed right before your eyes, right where you are. Led by Allison Allen Allison is a Jesus Follower, a wife, a mother and a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She and her husband are NAMB church planters in Sellersburg, IN. Allison counsels at Beechland Counseling Ministry in Louisville, KY, and is an adjunct professor at Campbellsville University. She loves women's ministry and is excited to be a part of this amazing conference! Led by Debbie Whidden Debbie has been married to Mitch for 23 years. They have 3 children and are quickly becoming empty-nesters. Debbie loves to entertain and have people in her home. Her role has changed since her husband has gone from the pastorate to working with NAMB through SCBI, but the mission is still the same. She loves being creative in her approach to making her house a home with Christ in the center. Led by Chris Conrades Chris is not a native Hoosier but has fallen in love with the people of Indiana over the past ten years. Chris and her husband Dan are church planting missionaries with NAMB and have four children. She is a homeschool mom, praise team leader, and Bible study leader. Her favorite things are singing, cooking for friends and family, and beating her husband at board games. Led by Goldie Frances* A young Goldie* first learned about the lost of this world in a Girls In Action class her mother taught at a small church in Missouri. South Asia captured her heart and mind when she made her first overseas trip to India. Goldie now lives next door where she daily sees the Lord work through education, medical care and biblical teaching to transform lives among poor families dwelling in the city slums. *name changed
5 We Are All Called Women have many roles in life. In the middle of work, church and our families is a calling from God to reach our community for Christ. Kerri will share her story of how God called her and her family from a small town in West Virginia to the South Bronx. God is using them to show love and mercy to their new urban community. Led by Kerri Johnson Kerri married her high school sweetheart, Josh. They stayed in their hometown of Princeton, WV, where Kerri stayed busy as mother, pastor's wife and church secretary. After three mission trips to New York City, God made His call clear for Josh and Kerri to move with their two children, Paige and Noah, to Mott Haven in the Bronx in Kerri is a MSC (Mission Service Corps) Missionary through NAMB and serves as the Works Director at Graffiti 2 Ministry. Kerri is grateful for the plans GOD has for her. It is more than she could have ever dreamed or imagined.
