The Next Generation... so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born and they in turn would tell their children Psalm 78:6 Goal: $9,000 Now through January 31, 2016 OVERVIEW The Next Generation Christmas Offering is a call to sacrificial giving with a goal of $9,000 for four ministry initiatives: Revamping our Children s Church ministry by renovating the children s area, creating a more secure check-in process and upgrading needed equipment and material Expanding the highly successful Game Changers Summer Camp to reach both girls and boys in 2016 Support the start-up of the new Fuzion Teen Center in Mooresville to reach the lost and give our youth a positive, safe and Godly environment in which to grow Funding benevolence and outreach causes in 2016

THE PURPOSES OF THE OFFERING To support Children's Ministry Currently, our Children s area is in dire need of painting, equipment upgrades and new material to maximize effectiveness and reach new families in the community. In order to support this dynamic ministry, we will create a more secure checkin by adding a laptop computer and printer to; facilitate dynamic teaching videos, by installing flat screen televisions and DVD players; create a warm and exciting environment by repainting rooms, adding additional lighting, cleaning carpets and adding new signage for the area. To support Game Changers By far, our Game Changers Summer camp was the most impactful outreach that our ministry has facilitated to date. God has given us tremendous favor with the Mooresville Graded School District and the Town of Mooresville to teach life and sports skills to under-privileged Middle School Boys. The camp provided transportation to, from and during camp; breakfast and lunch; sports equipment and supplies; and life planning materials, all for free! Multiple testimonies from the participants validate that this ministry has been extremely effective in the first year that it was offered. In 2016, we will expand the camp by offering it to both girls and boys and include additional activities such as dance. The cost to the ministry is expected to be $5,000, which will cover our director s salary, advertising and supplies for the summer. Lake Norman Christian Outreach 407 West Wilson Avenue, Mooresville, NC 28115 704.746.9947 Giving@LNCO.org

3 of 5 To support Teen Ministry in Mooresville The South Iredell Youth Ministry Network (S.I.Y.M.N.) was founded in 1995 to network youth ministries together to positively affect teens in our community. S.I.Y.M.N. is a group of interdenominational churches that are partnering with local non-profits and businesses to make this dream a reality. The Fuzion Teen Center will be a safe environment for teens, where they can thrive educationally and socially, while experiencing the love of Christ. The Fuzion Teen Center will offer high speed internet, tutoring, counseling, recording studio (free to student musicians), music lessons, healthy snacks, recreational room and more. A building and property have already been donated! Fuzion Teen Center will cost approximately $100,000 per year to open and maintain. Our goal is to partner with S.I.Y.M.N. and make a contribution towards this much needed ministry area. Capital Improvements These include. Improvements to help the ministry, such as funding our benevolence programs, counseling costs, short term financial assistance for members, etc. We will also purchase new signage such as feather flags and sandwich boards to help get the word out about LNCO in the community each week.

Frequently Asked Questions WHY A SPECIAL OFFERING? As part of God s plan to grow the faith of the people in His church, He calls us to sacrificial giving from time to time. This special offering is an opportunity for us to grow in our faith and to prepare us for what God wants to do through our church in 2016. This offering is not because we are behind on budget, but rather is to position us to make a greater impact in 2016, in our town, in our church and around the world. WHAT S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE REGULAR OFFERING AND THIS SPECIAL OFFERING? The regular LNCO offering is the proportional amount (the full tithe of 10%) that we set apart on a systematic basis and give throughout the year. From time to time there are opportunities to give in a sacrificial way. This special offering is one of those sacrificial occasions that stretch us to grow in our faith. The special offering should be over and above what you regularly give. HOW MUCH SHOULD I GIVE? Since the goal is $9,000 this special offering will involve everyone. Please prayerfully consider a sacrificial gift that will stretch your faith. The precise amount you give is between you and God. Many in our church can give a $1,000, $2,000 or even a $5,000 gift. Others will be able to give between $100 and $500. The issue is not equal giving, but equal sacrifice. What amount can you give that will stretch your faith? WHEN SHOULD I GIVE? The best time to give will be the first Sunday after you receive this packet. Please pray about making your best gift on that day. However, you can continue to give until January 31, 2016. Please use our special envelopes and select The Next Generation to make your contribution. Lake Norman Christian Outreach 407 West Wilson Avenue, Mooresville, NC 28115 704.746.9947 Giving@LNCO.org

5 of 5 CAN I GIVE ON-LINE VIA BANK CHECK OR THROUGH AUTO-DEBIT? Yes. When you give at www.givetolnco.org via online giving simply select The Next Generation as your giving category. Likewise, you can use your bank online payment option to send a check directly to the church office. Again, simply mark in the memo area that your gift is for the The Next Generation special offering. If you would like to do a one-time special auto-debit over and above your regular giving, simply reach out to Brother Louis Weeks it s simple and easy. ARE MY GIFTS TAX-DEDUCTIBLE? All gifts to LNCO, whether via the regular offering or this special offering, are completely tax-deductible. Your gift will be deductible in the tax year given (i.e., gifts given in 2015 will be deductible on your 2015 taxes). Please be sure to include your name and address when you give so that a receipt can be sent to you for your tax preparations. You are not required to utilize a taxdeduction for your gift, but it is available for all gifts. HOW DID WE ARRIVE AT A $9,000 GOAL? The $9,000 goal was prayerfully set. It is three times our regular weekly giving. It is a God-sized goal that can only be accomplished through 100% participation and sacrificial giving by our LNCO attendees and members. HOW WILL I KNOW IF WE REACH OUR GOAL? Please pray for God s guidance as we all give sacrificially. You will be updated on our giving progress through email and during the Sunday services. Reaching this goal will be a celebration of what we can do together as we stretch our faith under God s leadership. Have additional questions? giving@lnco.org. Please contact Louis Weeks or email us at
