We, as a Parish Family, are so glad you are here! As sharers of the one baptism & the one Spirit of the Risen Christ, we have come together as the Parish Community of St. Mark the Evangelist to proclaim our identity as the People of God. The Eucharist is the center of our life and work together. Through the one bread, we become the one body of Christ, a living sacrifice of praise. In our worship of God, the Author of life and holiness, we proclaim our hope in the life of Christ s Resurrection; we open our hearts and minds to the Spirit of God dwelling in our midst. In our work, together, we seek to enable our children to grow in the wisdom and knowledge of God; to accompany our young sons and daughters on their journeys of discovery toward adulthood; to deepen our faith commitment through prayer & study; to be present to one another in the joys and sufferings, the victories and struggles of life; to give witness to the Gospel of justice and compassion to our hurting world. We welcome to our parish family all who share our Catholic faith & traditions & our search for God in all things. -Parish Mission Statement Facebook: stmarkslondonderry Twitter: @stmarksnh Website: www.saintmarkevangelist.com
from your pastor Brothers and Sisters- Today we hear the Gospel of the Samaritan Woman at the well. This story is a great one, as it depicts a woman who is indeed searching and Jesus draws her deeper in her understanding of who He is and what life-giving water is all about [Jesus says] Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again; but whoever drinks the water I shall give will never thirst; the water I shall give will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life." The woman said to him, "Sir, give me this water, so that I may not be thirsty or have to keep coming here to draw water. The woman replies, Give me this water!!!.of course she does not fully understand what Jesus is talking about yet, as she is actually asking for an inexhaustible supply of actual water. However, the deeper into the conversation they get, the deeper her faith in Jesus becomes Her faith journey (AND OURS) is a process!!! I hope that as we look back at our own lives, that our understanding and belief in Christ has changed a bit from the time we were in elementary school. I hope that our understanding has changed a bit since we have had our first child. I hope that our understanding has become deeper as we continually strive to have a relationship with Him! Throughout our entire lives, we continually seek out further understanding of this life-giving water that only Jesus can give!!! This weekend, we also begin the series of scrutinies, in which our RCIA catechumens and candidates enter into more rigorous and intentional discernment as they prepare to come into full communion in the Catholic Church. Each of them have come from very different backgrounds and faith journeys, and the Spirit and their seeking for this lifegiving water has led them here to this very moment. Let us as a community continually pray for them as they look inward as they look at their lives and are more fully conformed to living life as a Catholic Christian modeling their very lives after Jesus Christ Himself. I am very proud as a pastor to see the development and growth in these men and women over the past year and I look forward to the day when they are received into our faith tradition!! Some of our catechumens and candidates may be received in at the Easter Vigil this year or at some other time when they are ready so please keep them all in your prayers, as they are all truly inspiring witnesses to faith!!! May each of our Lenten journeys be fruitful as we move closer to celebrating the Lord s passion, death, and Resurrection!! Always in Christ, Fr Mike

Welcome to the Team, Brandon! There is a new development here at St Mark s that we are very excited about! Brandon Sargent, our Youth Minister, has agreed to become a full time part of our Parish Staff as Evangelist!! We are blessed to have the opportunity to have him in this very vital teaching role!!! The position is being created to poster the continued growth and mission of our Parish family here at St. Mark s. We, as a parish community, believe that what we receive as gift in Word and in Sacrament calls us and sends us forth to evangelize all peoples we do not stay closed, but rather are sent out to the whole world to spread the Good News. We are blessed as a parish community to have the opportunity to put our mission into action with so many committees and teams all striving to do God s Work here on Earth. It then makes sense to bring onto our Parish Staff someone dedicated to the Evangelization efforts of teaching and reaching out to the poor, the lost, and forgotten and help guide our young people in the ways of Christ. The Parish Evangelist position will be extremely visible and instrumental in fanning into flame the faith our our people, equipping them to be able to Go out and teach all nations! How s that Carbon Fast Going? It s not too late to give up some carbon for Lent, or to pray with Pope Francis for our Common Home, or to donate to help those most hurt by climate change.
