We have many events that are coming up and would like to call on each of you to help in some form or fashion. I would also like for all of us to remain mindful of Jesus teachings with regard to the turmoil and unrest we are seeing in our nation and the world. Love one another as I have loved you. Through His wisdom, we can all overcome these trials and tribulations. Please take the time to say a prayer whenever you have a moment. We are going to have a 1st Degree exemplification before the meeting on AUGUST 1st. The start time will be 6:30 PM. Please plan accordingly and arrive by 6:15 PM. 2 Membership Page Sir Knight Don Coker Membership Chairman, Chancellor Worthy Brothers: Please join me in welcoming our council s newest members; Robert Enfield, Blaine Anderson, and Brad Knox, who received their First Degree on June 27. We look forward to getting to know them as they make an impact for Christ on our Council, on our parish, and our world. Please make them feel welcome and encourage them on their journey to full Knighthood in the Third Degree. These gentlemen bring our council member to a total of 174 members. We are an extra large council and I d like to personally challenge us all to think Extra Large in our goals and in our response to the call to address the needs of our parish and community. Please also take the time to congratulate Tom Lynch, who received his Third (knighthood) degree at Saint Elizabeth s in Clarksdale, MS. He has proved himself worthy by his involvement and his willingness to form himself in our faith and in our order. Lastly Brothers, allow me to impress upon you what should be our greatest recruitment tool: us! Brothers as our workd is reeling from the violence of recent events, as we long for a break form this world s darkness and look forward to the coming of the Kingdom of Heaven, let us remember this, we make the world a better place one act of charity (love) at a time! If we want to know who will be the light in these dark times, we need to look no further than our Brother Knights, our families, and the Holy Church. If you would like to make a difference for another man, his family, our parish and our world, ask a worthy fellow Catholic man to join our order. When the order grows, the faith and our church are strengthened through our dedication to the principles of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism. In short, brothers, we call the best in one another and foster the development of virtues as iron sharpens iron, so man sharpens the fellow man. Proverbs 27:17. (all quotes, other than biblical, came from These Men Called Knights ) Vivat Jesus, SK Don Coker
3 Ted Lander Faithful Navigator Worthy Sir Knights: Just a few words regarding the starting of our own Fourth Degree here in North Mississippi. At the present time we have need of people interested in becoming members of this team. As of today we have three people committed to this project. We would like to start practices in the month of September. If you are interested and want to be part of this team please see or contact Fred Ward via e-mail at ward.fred@att.net or call him at 501-733-1346. There are 6 speaking parts. Do not worry about memorization though that is the ideal we can do it from reading. I had received some names from people interested in this however I have lost my list of names. So if you had said that you wanted to be part please give Fred your name again. As I understand there will be, starting, two practices per month - dates and times to be discussed when all get together. The only requirement is that you must be a current fourth degree member. I will be seeing if anyone in the Olive Branch Assembly would like to join us.
