Junior Camp Fundraiser Announcements Our young people going to junior camp this summer will serve donuts and coffee to all Adult Bible Fellowships today. The treats are free for everyone to enjoy whether you donate or not! See your ABF leader for information on donating to a needy young person s camp expenses. Help send our kids to camp! New ABF Class Re:Generation Today Jeff Caupp is starting a new ABF class in room A-252. Though anyone may join, the approximate age group is 30s-50s. The class purpose is to individually lead spirit-filled lives and collaboratively do the work of the ministry as they seek to glorify God in their families, their church, and their community. Announcements IBCS 2018 Commencement Concert Sing along with the IBCS family in a festival of hymns led by the College Choir, Chamber Singers, and Handbell Ensemble, with special appearances by the Tri-City Baptist Church Choir and Brass Ensemble. Pastor Dave Stertzbach will guide the festival with hymnological stories and perspectives that focus on three great hymn writers of the past: Watts, Wesley, and Bliss. Come take part in an evening of praise and adoration of the Lord of Heaven on Friday, May 11, at 7:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary. Baby Dedication Baby Dedication is Sunday, May 13, during the morning service. This is an annual event when Pastor Mike prays a dedication prayer for parents who desire to rear their children for the Lord. Book of the Month The Masculine Mandate In this book, Richard D. Phillips cuts through the cultural confusion, highlights God s mandate for men, and encourages readers to join him on a journey of repentance and renewal. Phillips begins in the Garden of Eden, drawing foundational teaching for men from the earliest chapters of God s Word. This is teaching that reaches into all of life. Christian men today need to examine their hearts and embrace their God given mandate. Only then will they be able to recognize their high calling, and by God s grace, serve faithfully in whatever context God has placed them. Memorizing God's Word in 2018! Recount God s goodness to you this week and share joys and concerns with those around you. Pray for one another. Word Genesis 25:23. What was God s Word to Rebekah about Jacob? Why was this so important to Jacob and Esau? How has God upset your apple cart of the plans you have for your future or that of your children? How do you think Esau felt about this? (Hint: Hebrews 12:14-17) Genesis 25:29-34. What was Jacob s plan when he was 77? Why do you think this is wrong on Jacob s part? How have you jumped in with your plan to fix a problem and not waited on God? Genesis 27:1-10. What scheme did Jacob and Rebekah hatch out together? Why do you think they planned to accomplish this through dishonesty? How have you failed at some point by trusting yourself more than God s promises to you? Witness Be aware of those around you! Bless them and invite them into your life. Minister God s truth and love to them. Be ready to be a blessing to all those around you.
