FORT HOWARD COUNCIL #5382 STAR COUNCIL KNIGHTLY NEWS DESK OF THE GRAND KNIGHT Greetings Brother Knights, I am pleased to report that our Porkie and Pancake breakfast on the 14th had a very good turnout and that we raised over $500.On the 22nd, we were back at the NEW Community Shelter where we sponsored and served fish (which is always appreciated) to approximately 170. I would like to thank all who volunteered and helped to make these events so successful. Thanks also go out for the deserts that were brought to the shelter. With Winterfest/MardiGras on March 5th there is not much time left to get your beer in for the pyramid if you have not already done so.bring it to our next meeting on the 3rd, or contact Kevin Hanson, Rod Klingbeil, or myself and we will see that it gets there. Also related to this is the need for help on this night, please volunteer and assist your brother knights to help others. We are once again participating in the Walk for Life, Wednesdays 4PM to 6PM. The 40 Cans for Lent appears to be off to a good start.i have not received the to-date totals but was informed that there were 260 cans(boxes) at Annunciation alone on Feb 21st. It is getting to be that time of year when you should be considering nominating someone or being nominated as an officer of this council. We will be needing a treasurer as our current one is stepping down at the end MARCH 2016 http://kofc5382.org of his term. Schedule conflicts between our meetings and his other obligations are stretching him a little thin.as much as we need him there are others who need him more. So, who among you has got feet big enough to fill the shoes of Denis Lee? See you at the next meeting Vivat Jesus, GK Jim Jerabek GK Jim & Karl It was a COLD Ash Wednesday in February and our council was out in force for 40 Days For Life Thanks Brothers! GOD BLESS ALL our Sailors and Soldiers who are protecting our country and their families. Remember them in your hearts and prayers. Did you know? All four Parishes of the Quad-Parish community have a long established prayer vine/tree? The prayer vine/tree consists of a chain of people who communicate the names of those requested to pray for. Each prayer vine/tree person gives the name to another person who keeps passing it on to others and each person prays for them. The more people in the prayer vine, the more prayers are said. There are no formal meetings. Anyone who is interested please contact the Quad-Parish Office (920-496-2160). Our council has also established a on-line prayer vine, go to http://kofc5382.org/blog and click on prayer request. Come Join Us To Walk For 4o Days for Life.
