LEOMINSTER, MA The Easter season culminates today with our celebration of the Solemnity of Pentecost. In a particular way, Pentecost is the birthday of the church. Gathered in an upper room and having shared the presence of the Risen Jesus, the first disciples are visited by a new power from on high that anoints them in fire, making them a new creation and urging them to go forth and speak the one healing language of love to all. This day, gathered in this room, let us ask for the Holy Spirit to clothe us from on high with the gifts of courage and compassion, that we may faithfully proclaim the Gospel message of love, in word and deed. HAPPY FEAST DAY EVERYONE! Healing Mass This Wednesday, May 22 nd, at 7PM, we will continue our Marian celebrations with a special Mass for Healing in honor of Our Lady of Lourdes. As you know, the Lourdes Grotto on our property has long been a quiet place of prayer for many. People come here, day and night, seeking Mary s intercession for themselves and others. Our Grotto commemorates Mary s apparition to Bernadette Soubirous in the village of Lourdes, France, in 1854. Since that time, Lourdes has been a place of pilgrimage most especially for the sick. Let us gather to honor our Blessed Mother and ask her help to continue the healing ministry of her Son in our day and in our midst. The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick will be administered during the Mass and a special blessing will be given to all who care for the sick. Anyone who would like to donate a bouquet of flowers in memory of a loved love or in honor of a special intention, please contact the parish office. Flowers will be placed around the statue of Mary. This week s flowers at the feet of Mary are given in loving memory of the Marion McGuire, Mildred Sullivan, and Florence Tierney. Please remember in your prayers those who have recently died; especially parish member Theresa Hennessy and Brad Ford, brother-in-law of parishioners Diane Putnam and Jean Jones. May they rest in peace, and may their families find comfort from their faith in Jesus Christ. PARISH OFFICE HOURS Mon - Thurs from 9AM - 3PM
