Life changes in a remarkable way So many challenges and joys each and every day. The roles are many and filled with stress Teaching, feeding, protecting leaves little rest. A playmate, a nurse, a role model too There is little in life that a Mom doesn t do. So we take time to honor all Mother s this Day. Those women who have cared for us this special way. For God has put in each Mother a heart of love A strength and deep faith from our Lord above. G. Artz 5/5/18
Page Disciples Women s News I must thank all of you who helped to cater the District 8 Men s Dinner Meeting on April 6. There were men from 6 churches attending an all said they enjoyed the wonderful meal and attention given. Each Spring we donate money toward a Spring Project adopted by our Virginia CWF. This year our donation will be split. Half of the money will go to Theological Education by Extension College in South Africa. The purpose is to help students (male and female) with scholarships to study Theology. The other half will go to Antioch Christian Church in District IV which suffered a horrible fire that destroyed the building that was built in 1876. The funds will help replace things that insurance did not cover. Gina Artz President A Letter From the Disciples Women s Cabinet on the Retreat We will NOT have the retreat in June. Renovations are being made to the dorm at Lynchburg College that we were to use and the other dorm did not meet our needs as well. Our retreat date was also very close to the Regional Assembly. We hope that everyone will attend the D.W. luncheon as part of the Regional Assembly. Our Retreat Committee is working on another event for us at a later time. We will let you know when plans are finalized. Blessings, Pat Mays, President Women s Banquet Keep Checking For This Event! Women of Park View Christian Church- For many, many years we have sponsored a Mother Daughter Banquet each Spring at various venues and with great themes and programs. This year, due to so many of our executive board being out of town or dealing with health and family issues- our banquet has been postponed. It will happen, but it will be a different timeframe and location. Please keep your ears and eyes open for more information about this special event! If you are willing to help with the planning for our banquet, please see Gina Artz. Again, Thank you all women of Park View for all you do to serve this church and to serve God in so many special ways. Gina Artz, President CWF
