Growth Growth Alpha Alpha is a nine-week course designed to explore the key issues relating to the Christian faith in a relaxed, friendly setting. Growth Growth Disciple 2 Disciple 2 is a series of 20 spiritual conversations between two Christ-followers over a one-year period. These Biblefocused discussions are designed to help both people grow in their knowledge and devotion to being a disciple of Jesus Christ. In this one-on-one journey, one person is taking the lead by initiating the relationship and leading conversations. Becoming a fully devoted disciple of Christ is a lifelong process, and Disciple 2 is simply one step in a journey that spans a lifetime. To engage in the Disciple 2 spiritual mentorship program, prayerfully determine whom you d like to be your mentor or mentee. Let God be the matchmaker. Whoever God brings to your mind, ask that person to join you in the program. Then email the contact details for both the mentor and mentee to dave.choutka@northviewchurch.us. Membership Class Membership at Northview offers the opportunity to make a statement of greater commitment to the church. This class helps explain our membership process, reviews the expectations of our members and discusses the theology at Northview. Life Groups Life Groups We believe life change can and will happen in Life Groups, and we strongly encourage everyone to be involved in one. Community is essential to our spiritual journey, so we organize the groups around your life stage, schedule and location. Groups meet every week or every other week in homes. Northview Kids Northview Kids Weekend Services Northview Kids is our children's ministry for kids ages birth through 4th grade. No matter the age or need, your child will experience God's love here at Northview. In creative and inspiring classrooms, kids learn about God and His immense love for everyone through playtime, songs, activities and storytelling. For more information, visit northviewkids.us. Date/Time 9 & 11 a.m. on Sundays Baby Dedications Baby Dedications are conducted during Weekend Services on Mother s Day and in December. By dedicating your child, you are coming forward to declare that, as the parent, you take your responsibility seriously and commit yourself to raising your children in a God-honoring manner. A class is required in advance for all participating families. Family Experience (FX) Family Experience (FX) is a worship and teaching event for the whole family. Each FX service will introduce the next month of curriculum that we will teach our elementary students in Northview Kids. FX will incorporate high-energy worship, fun crowd games, interactive biblical teaching, and family small-group time. We will even send a "widget" home with you that will help your family keep the spiritual conversation happening all month long. Although FX is designed with elementary kids and parents in mind, we believe the entire family will benefit, and we welcome kids of all ages. Please note that no childcare will be available, and this is not a drop-off event. You will remain together as a family for the entire event. We ask that you register for this free event so that we can plan well. However, we don't want registration to be a barrier for you to invite your friends and neighbors. Northview Kids Northview Kids Parent Baptism Class How do you know if your child is ready for baptism? Please join Northview Kids for this class to assist you in determining your child s readiness for this next step in his or her spiritual development. We will walk through what it means to be baptized, the process for baptism weekend and some next steps beyond baptism. Please note that Northview Kids suggests that a child be at least 8 years old to be baptized; however, we trust your judgment as the parent. When parents have completed the class and feel their child is ready to move forward with baptism, they can register at northviewchurch.us. Summer Adventure Summer Adventure is a 36-hour event for kids in grades 2 4. We ll spend the night at the church, travel to local fun spots and experience a few surprises. The kids will learn more about God in ways that challenge them in their spiritual journey. 30 Serve One. Worship One. (SOWO) Join us this Christmas in Northview Kids! Additional Northview Kids volunteers are needed during all of our Christmas Eve services. Worship during one Christmas Eve service and volunteer to serve in Northview Kids doing another. This is a one-time-only commitment and a great way to test the water to see if serving in Northview Kids is a good fit for you. Students can join us for a message geared toward their lives. It's also a great place to hang out, play games and get to know other students and leaders. No registration is required. Outreach Outreach 40 Bauer Community Center Mentorship Program The Bauer Community Center Mentorship Program offers an opportunity to volunteer 2-4 times per month for 1- or 2-hour time segments working with elementary and junior high students. Volunteer in either the after-school homework help time between 3 and 5 p.m. or the evening programming from 6 to 8 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays during the school year. Training and orientation will be held in late August or mid-september. Please watch your worship program for the upcoming time and date of the callout meeting. Northview helps manage the pantry for LTHC. Volunteers serve a two-hour shift in the pantry once a week, bi-weekly or once a month. Help to stock shelves, organize donations, bag groceries and process paperwork.
