Shepherds with Christ s Aroma After a hearty meal in one of those great mansions of Hollywood, a famous actor entertained the guests reciting famous passages in Shakespeare plays. Eventually he accepted a request of a shy and elderly priest, he asked if he knew Psalm 23. Yes, I know and will recite it on one condition, that when I finish reciting, you will recite the same psalm after me. The somewhat frightened priest accepted the challenge. The actor recited wonderfully, and he was applauded very enthusiastically. The priest stood up and said the same words but this time there was no applause, just silence content and some tears. The actor relished the silence for a moment and stood up. Ladies and gentlemen I hope we all have understood what just happened here: I know the words of Psalm but this priest knows the shepherd. Easter means that people are transformed. And all these Sundays are Easter Sundays to remind us that Easter is not just a single Sunday, but every day. Easter is not only a celebration, but a way of life. Christianity begins with Passover. Without Easter we would not have a Gospel to preach, no Christ to believe in, neither a church to belong, or any priests... without Easter silence. Without Easter, nothing. Without Easter, only death. Exult. Christ was resurrected. Christ lives. Jesus is the living shepherd. Jesus is the way we have to walk, and the door that introduces us to salvation of the Father. Ayman Khair representing about 180 Christian families from Bethlehem. These families have been dependent upon sales of their hand carved religious articles to tourists of the Holy Land. Due to the conflict in the Middle East, the tourism has been cut off. In order to survive, they have turned to Christian communities in the United States to purchase their articles. These hand carved religious articles are beyond description. Carved from wood of the sacred Olive tree, this workmanship has been traditional for these families for hundreds of years. It is hoped that through the efforts of Mr. Khair that these families have a little income and are able to stay living in the Holy Land. Amazingly enough, The Christians population dropped from 22 % to less than 2% in the last 30 years. Mensaje de nuestro Párroco Pastores con olor a Cristo Después de una copiosa cena en una de esas grandiosas mansiones de Hollywood, un famoso actor entretenía a los convidados recitando pasajes famosos de las obras de Shakespeare. Al final aceptó una última petición. Un tímido y anciano sacerdote le preguntó si conocía el salmo 23. Sí, lo conozco y lo recitaré con una condición, que cuando yo termine de recitarlo, recite usted el mismo salmo. El sacerdote un tanto asustado aceptó el reto. El actor lo dijo maravillosamente y le aplaudieron entusiasmados. El sacerdote se levantó y dijo las mismas palabras pero esta vez no hubo aplausos, sólo un silencio contenido y alguna lágrima. El actor saboreó el silencio durante unos momentos y se levantó. Señoras y señores espero hayan comprendido lo que acaba de suceder aquí: Yo conozco las palabras del salmo pero este sacerdote conoce al pastor. Pascua significa que somos personas transformadas. Y todos estos domingos son domingos de Pascua para recordarnos que Pascua no es un solo domingo, un solo día. Pascua no es solo una celebración, sino una manera de vivir. El cristianismo comienza con la Pascua. Sin la Pascua no tendríamos evangelio que predicar, ni Cristo en el que creer, ni iglesia a la que pertenecer, ni sacerdotes Sin Pascua, silencio. Sin Pascua, nada. Sin Pascua, sólo muerte. Alegrémonos. Cristo ha resucitado. Cristo vive. Jesús es el pastor que vive.
