From the Desk of The Priest WHAT IS YOUR PREFERENCE? Starting Palm Sunday, we will be returning to communion from the chalice which requires 3 Eucharistic Ministers for each Mass. However, we are short of volunteers for Holy Communion. The 8 AM Mass in particular only has 5 volunteers. Our choices are to find more volunteers or limit the need. If we can find 1/2 dozen additional volunteers, we would be able to proceed as planned. If not, we may have to limit the opportunities for communion from the chalice. Perhaps have the Precious Blood offered only on one side of the church. Please, pray about this. The decision rests with you. If you are interested in signing up to become a Eucharistic Minister please call the Main Office. LHCS CASH BASH Mark your calendars for the 3 rd annual St. Patrick s Day Cash Bash on March 16 th from 7 10 PM at Haywood s on the Green! Tickets are $20 each and include green beer, wine, and appetizers. Tickets can be purchased at the Lock Haven Catholic School or Haywood s on the Green. Contact Brooke Fravel for more information at 748-7252. PARISH CENTER SCHEDULE If you are planning an event or meeting in the Parish Center please contact the Main Office for the availability of space. All planned events should be to the Office before the 1 st of the month so they can be published on the Parish Calendar of Events. STATIONS OF THE CROSS Walk with Jesus, meditate on the passion of Christ, and embrace his suffering, as Jesus chose to share in our suffering. Don t forget to attend Stations of the Cross during a Friday of Lent at 7:00PM at St. Agnes or 9:00 AM Tuesdays with LHCS at Immaculate Conception. Catholic Ministries Drive Our 2018 Catholic Ministries Drive, Making Christ a Home in Your Heart, launches today in parishes throughout our diocese. This drive focuses on a select group of ministries with emphasis on the poor, families, youth, seminarians, and leadership development of clergy and laity. Please reflect on Bishop Mark s invitation when it arrives this week and return your pledge card in next weekend s collection. All contributions received beyond our parish target of $36,368 will go directly to our church. Thank you for supporting these vital ministries with sacrificial gifts of prayer and treasure. OFFE NEWS Spring is the season of change! Mazzie Hau is now in the Main Office four days a week. Now is a great time to schedule Masses, Sanctuary Candles, and look ahead to events that may need added to the Parish Calendar. CEMETERY CLEAN- UP Please mark your calendars for Spring Cemetery Clean-up on April 24 th at 9:30 AM starting at Saint Mary s Cemetery and then going to Saint Agnes Cemetery. HOLY SPIRIT OUTREACH An idea for a Lenten sacrifice... Show that you care. Consider offering to deliver a fish fry meal to someone who is ill or home-bound. If you would like to volunteer please call the Main Office for more information. FISH FRY The third week of Lent 255 meals were served. Make sure you get your chances to win cash prizes from $100 to $500 now! The chances are available for $1.00 each, with the drawing on Friday, March 23 rd at 6:00PM. Helpers are always needed, especially for clean up on Friday nights at 6:30PM. If you can help in any way, please call Jane Dent at 570-726-4463.

Thank you FAITH DAY 2018 AT DELGROSSO AMUSEMENT PARK! Mark your calendars now to gather on Sunday, June 24. The day will feature Liturgy with Bishop Mark Bartchak, music, giveaways, games, rides, expansive pool and waterpark! And back by popular demand - the DAJ Best Dessert Contest! More information on meal tickets and reduced rate All Day Ride and Slide passes to come! FAMILIES AND THE GOSPEL John 3:14-21 - Today s gospel speaks of light and darkness. Often a parent is deliberately left in the dark. Darkness can be comforting for it makes no demands on us. Light can be disturbing for it forces us to take action. Parents walk a delicate balance of when to sit in the dark and when to turn on the lights. STEWARDSHIP REFLECTION Darkness or light Jesus tells us that if we live our lives as faithful stewards our deeds will shine out and be clearly seen as we reflect God s dream. How much light do your deeds give off? THOUGHT OF THE WEEK Lenten Thought of the Week "By emptying our lives of all that is not God during Lent, we come to our true selves, encountering God at the bottom of our emptiness. Whatever can be taken from you is never God." Karl Rahner, SJ (1904-1984), German Jesuit priest, scholar, and theologian. BAPTISM CONGRATULATIONS Della Anne Moore, child of Brian and Lorin Moore, was baptized and welcomed into our Parish Family. Please pray for her continued growth in faith. Jesus said, "Let the children come to me; do not prevent them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Mark 10:13-16 IN LOVING MEMORY The Sanctuary candle for the first two weeks of March at Saint Agnes Church is burning in loving memory of Mary Ann Noll by John and Jennifer Dantico. The Sanctuary candle for the first two weeks of March at Immaculate Conception Church is burning in loving memory of Joseph Martel by Sister and loving family. JOHN 1:4 In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. INTS OF THE WEEK: March 17 - St. Patrick INT PATRK S BREASTPLATE Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ on my right, Christ on my left, Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down, Christ when I arise, Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me, Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me, Christ in every eye that sees me, Christ in every ear that hears me.
