Central Alabama Emmaus Community the 4th day newsletter October 3, 2017 A MESSAGE FROM WALK #188 LAY DIRECTOR Dear Emmaus Community, It doesn't seem so long ago that I was a pilgrim on CAEW Walk # 116. I'll never forgot the pouring out of grace and love I felt that weekend. We walked up to dying moments in the pouring rain and when we walked out the sun was shining down on us. It was like God telling me, I was free from what I had just let go of! I'll never forget that. That was the only time we saw the sun all weekend. And then on the last day He blessed us with snow. It was like He was showing me a symbolism of making me white as snow all over again. That was over 8 years ago and it seems like only yesterday because I remember it quite vividly! Women s Walk #188 Raylaine Henderson Selma Cluster Times To Remember Wednesday 7pm Send-Off Friday 7pm Candlelight Saturday 7am Serenade Saturday 4pm Closing I am very honored and humbled to serve as Lay director for Walk #188. I want to thank the Emmaus community for this great privilege. I am so blessed that God has put together the most amazing team. It takes a lot of Gods children to put a walk together. And I am in awe of the outpouring of support and love that is being put into His walk. I want to thank everyone that has said yes to be the hands and feet of Jesus! God will bless you for your willingness to share your talents and time! From the time we started preparing the enemy has tried hard to discourage us or get us off track. So we know God has something special planned for this walk. We can't wait to see Him at work! This just might be "The Best Walk Ever!" Please be in prayer for the walk and everyone that is and has been anyway involved with Walk 188, especially the pilgrims. Our prayer is that they will leave camp and start their 4th days refreshed, their hearts on fire, and more deeply in love with Jesus! Maranatha & DeColores! A MESSAGE FROM WALK #188 SPIRITUAL DIRECTOR To Our Wonderful Community, Well the training is complete and now Walk # 188 is about to begin. My computer is receiving new updates of pilgrim names almost daily. But as we all know God is in charge and those meant to be on walk #188 will be there Wednesday night. Having heard the talks and seen the hearts of the team, I believe God is about to do something wonderful. From past experiences when the Holy Spirit is present we can expect to see lives changed. From a pastor's point of view the Holy Spirit can totally change an attitude or push us out of a comfortable seat. In light of the evil in our world today let us be reminded of Ephesians 6:10-20 we need to put on the armor of God and be prepared to do battle with our enemy, which is not the flesh and blood of our brothers and sisters, but the evil forces of this cosmic darkness. Let's love like Christ and show mercy to each other. As we attend or pray for walk #188 let us keep our eyes on Christ Jesus and receive the grace and mercy he has planned for us. Let us feast at his table and get out of our pews to stand beside Jesus Christ, our Savior and our Lord. God is already there in the conference room preparing for our arrival and our time with him. 2017 Walk Dates October 4-7 Men s Walk 189 Ronald Lynch East Alabama Cluster November 1-4 2018 Walk Dates Men s Walk #190 Joe Branch Montgomery Cluster January 24-27 Women s Walk #191 Gene Ann Jimmerson East Alabama Cluster February 21-24 Women s Walk #192 Angi Rhymes Elmore Cluster March 14-17 Decolores, Brother Greg Nobles with them Sign Up For Emmaus Prayer Vigils To sign up for a prayer vigil for Emmaus Walks locally and around the world go to: http://www.3dayol.org click on the walk number on the schedule and look for sign up information.
