THERE IS POWER IN YAHSHUA'S BLOOD Blood is important to Yahweh. He tells us it contains the life and therefore we are not to eat it (Gen. 9:4, Lev. 3:17. and Lev. 17:12). The lives of innocent animals were sacrificed so their blood could cover the sins of the Israelites, in Old Testament times. Also, in a unique way, blood was used by Yahweh to seal His covenant with Israel. Moses sprinkled ox blood on the people after reading the covenant to them saying, "Behold the blood of the covenant, which Yahweh hath made with you concerning all these words." (Ex. 24:5-8) It was a serious agreement, witnessed with blood, which they said they would keep (verse 3). As they walked through the wilderness, the Children of Israel killed many sacrifices, the blood of which reminded them that they had not kept their bargain. They also were required to do sacrifices that pointed to the ultimate sacrifice, the Lamb of Yahweh, who would be sacrificed in a new and better covenant with their seed. His blood would be shed once, for all (Heb. 9:12), because He was the Lamb of Yahweh, chosen as a sacrifice from the beginning. He was the only begotten Son of Yahweh and had taken on flesh to die for the sins and transgressions of His people Israel and, ultimately, for all people. There would never need to be another blood sacrifice from that time on, because His was the most precious blood of all and covered all. He was the Son of the Highest (Luke 1:32). When Yahshua gave His life--his blood--for the sins of the people, He defeated their adversary, Satan, the Devil. He made a way for those who believed on Him to have peace. (Col. 1:20, Isa. 53:5 and 54:10). Peace in our lives means the absence of struggles and trials. Peace is an absence of war-the adversary is subdued. Satan would like to put trouble of every kind in the lives of those who would follow the Lamb, but he knows he has been defeated by the willingly shed blood of Yahshua. From those who accept the covenant of His blood, Satan must flee. Every year we renew that blood covenant, when we eat the unleavened bread, which represents His body (Matthew 26:26), and drink the fruit of the vine, which represents His blood of the New Testament (Matthew 16:27-28) ("Testament" is a word meaning "covenant." In Strong's G. #1242, its meaning is "...a contract...covenant, testament.") But, to partake of this covenant, we must understand it, or we take it unworthily, to our damnation (I Corinthians 11:27-29). By eating the bread, we are reminded of His body. By His stripes we are healed (I Peter 2:24). He was bruised for our transgressions and iniquities (Isaiah 53:12). His visage was so marred, more than any man and His form more than the sons of men (Isaiah 52:14). No man ever suffered such a beating as He willingly endured for us. By drinking the fruit of the vine, we are reminded of His blood, which was shed to buy us back. By law, it takes blood to atone for the soul (Leviticus 17:11). By His own blood, He entered once into the Holy Place, having obtained eternal redemption for us (Hebrews 7:27 and 9:12). He washed us from our sins by His own blood (Revelation 1:5). By His blood we are cleansed from all sin and unrighteousness (I John 1:7-9). He

is now at the right hand of the Father, making intercession for us (Rom. 8:34). He is alive and active in our behalf! After Yahshua died, and when He ascended on high, He led captivity captive and gave gifts to men, so that Yahweh Elohim might dwell among them (Ephesians 4:8 and Psalms 68:18). In Judges 5:12, Deborah was told to utter a song, "Arise Barak, and lead thy captivity captive..." This is especially interesting because Deborah's co-worker, Barak, who had dominion over the mighty (Jeremiah 5:13), defeated Sisera, the leader of the Canaanites and obtained a great victory over them (Young's Concordance, p. 70). Sisera was fighting the Israelites when he and his host were beginning to lose to Barak and his warriors, who were using "the edge of the sword." (Judges 4:15) Sisera fled on foot and was invited into Jael's tent where he was given drink and rest. However, Jael pounded a tent stake through his temples while he slept, killing him. The Bible says of this, "They fought from heaven; the stars in their course fought against Sisera." (Judges 5:20) This story has profound meaning for us today, if we can understand it. It happened physically many years ago, but the spiritual application is for us, today. The analogy is that the Israel of Yah, represented by Deborah and Barak, is fighting Satan and his army, represented by Sisera, with the Sword of the Word, the Holy Bible. (Sisera means "mediation. array," Young's Concordance, p. 893.) The prophetess, Deborah, was an essential part of the offensive. She told Barak when to move and fight. Deborah means, "bee or wasp." (Young's Concordance, p. 237) This is very similar to the hornets Yahweh promises to send against the enemy (Exodus 23:28, Deuteronomy 7:20, and Joshua 24:12). We are not to be afraid of Satan and his hordes, just as the Israelites were told to not be afraid of the nations. (Also see II Timothy 1:7.) "Thou shalt not be afraid of them: but shalt well remember what Yahweh, thy El, did unto Pharaoh, and unto all Egypt...Moreover Yahweh, thy El will send the hornet among them, until they that are left, and hide themselves from thee, be destroyed...and Yahweh, thy El, will put out those nations before thee little and little: thou mayest not consume them at once, lest the beasts of the field increase upon thee...and he shall deliver their kings unto thy hand..." (Deuteronomy 7:19-24) This shows that, with Yahweh's help, we can bring plagues on these hordes of Satan who fight against us, and use spiritual hornets to drive them out a little at a time, so the beasts of the field (more spiritual enemies) do not increase and take over the empty places in our land (body). We can destroy the work of those (demon spirits) who hide themselves. We can capture their kings and render their kingdom useless. However, we need spiritual gifts in order to do this, including the gift of prophecy that Deborah had. In fact, the gift of prophecy may be the hornet Yahweh mentions. The Bible tells us the fight is from heaven and that the "stars in their courses" fought against Sisera. The stars are angels (Revelation 1:20) who fight for us in this spiritual battle against Satan and his hordes.

Yahshua has given us the authority to ask for His angels to fight for us (Matthew 16:19; Matthew 18:18; and Matthew 12:29) and the power to rout Satan and his hordes, though spiritual, in a physical way, by our belief in His name, the sacrifice of His body, and by the blood, which was given to redeems us. Salvation and deliverance are ours, in a covenant of peace. The Canaanites possessed the land that Yahweh had given the Children of Israel. Earlier inhabitants had been the Anakim giants. Barak was to capture the captives or "lead captivity captive," just as in the New Testament, where Yahshua "led captivity captive" (Ephesians 4:8). We believe this is not only a statement of physical happenings, but prophetic language of a spiritual nature. The spiritual application is seen in the analogy of Exodus 23:20-30, where the names of various people who inhabited Canaan can be equated with spiritual entities who may inhabit the body (our land). They are, in other places, referred to as "the terrible ones," "serpents and scorpions," "beasts," or "heathen". "O Elohim, the heathen are come into thine inheritance; thy holy temple have they defiled;...the flesh of thy saints (have they given) unto the beasts of the earth (Psalms 79:1-2). There is a double meaning here. "...the branch of the terrible ones shall be brought low." (Isaiah 25:5) "...the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save your children." (Isaiah 49:25) "...and I will redeem thee out of the hand of the terrible." (Jeremiah 15:21) In a spiritual battle, the terrible of the nations and the mighty one of the heathen break down the spiritual giant, the Assyrian, in Ezekiel 3:1. "He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him." (Ecclesiastes 10:8) "For, behold, I will send serpents, cockatrices, among you, which will not be charmed, and they shall bite you, saith Yahweh." (Jeremiah 8:17) "Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which Yahweh Elohim had made..." (Genesis 3:1) "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven." (Luke 10:19-20) Yahshua has power and dominion over all the kingdom of darkness and its many spiritual workers. Our Bible tells us that Yahshua descended "...into the lower parts of the earth" and He "preached unto the spirits in prison..." (I Peter 3:19) Having triumphed over them, He is now "on the right hand of Yahweh; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him." (I Peter 3:22) By His Name and because of His shed blood and by the sacrifice of His body, He gained these privileges. He has the legal right to lead His army of angels against Satan's hordes and Satan knows he cannot win because all power and authority has been given to Yahshua, and Satan must obey Him. Just as Yahshua led captivity captive, and Barak led captivity captive, we also have the right to lead captivity captive, or make captive and keep captive the army of the enemy.

Yahweh gives us His prescription for cleaning us up. He says in II Chronicles 7:14, "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." The land, of course, is more than the sod on which we walk; it is the body, which is made of dust. In this age, Satan has a legal right to trouble us and not come out of our lives completely and immediately, when we become begotten of Yahweh; but instead, he must be driven out "little by little" until our "land" (our body) is free of his influence. This process is called spiritual warfare. Spiritual warfare was done by Yahshua before He died. He also gave power to his disciples and apostles to cast out demons and heal the sick, while He was on earth, and then to continue after His death. They were able to do these things because of the power He delegated to them. (Mark 16:17; John 14:12) When we study this word "power" we find there are several words translated to the English word "power," in the Bible. Of them, Strong's G. #1411 is "dunamis" meaning "miraculous power (usually by impl. a miracle itself)...mighty wonderful work." Another word for "power" is Strongs G. #1849, "exousia," meaning, "privilege...force...mastery...delegated influence...authority, jurisdiction, liberty, power, right, strength." When Yahshua's followers were all together in one place waiting for the first New Testament Day of Pentecost, they received "dunamis" power, as they had been promised by Yahshua (Acts 1:8 and Luke 24:49). This is the kind of power Yahshua had--as recorded in Acts 10:38. It says, "...Yah anointed Yahshua of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil: for Yahweh was with him." "Dunamis" power is a noun and is the power of Yahweh, which raised Yahshua from the dead (Ephesians 1:19-20). It is the same kind of power that made Paul a minister (Ephesians 3:7). It is the kind of power Yahshua gave the 12 when He gave them "power over all devils and to cure diseases." (Luke 9:1) Later, Steven full of faith and (dunamis) power did great wonders and miracles among the people. (Acts 6:8) It is even the kind of power the Son of Perdition will have, as his (dunamis) power will be "after the works of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders." (II Thessalonians 2:9) We can see by this that Satan was given, at one time, the same kind of power that Yahshua Himself has. However, Yahshua fought against Satan and defeated him. (Revelation 12:7-12) Now Satan has permissive power in our lives to harass us, even if we belong to Yahshua, but we can fight and overcome him with the power and authority of the Word and by the shed blood of Yahshua (Colossians 1:20). "Exousia," is also a noun, translated "power," and "denotes freedom of action, right

to act, authority is delegated..." (Vines Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words, p. 868) It is used in Matthew 10:1 and Mark 3:15, where Yahshua gave His 12 disciples power against unclean spirits, "to cast them out and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of diseases." It was "exousia" power that enabled the twelve to go out two and two to overcome unclean spirits (Mark 6:7). "Exousia" power was the kind of power Yahshua gave the 70 men He sent out. He said, "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven." (Luke 10:19-20) It is also "exousia" power that was given in the Great Commission. He delegated His authority to the apostles and those who would come after them "even unto the end of the world." He said, "...All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore and teach all nations...teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo I am with you alway..." (Matthew 28:18-20) When we have the Holy Spirit, we have tasted of the (dunamis) powers of the world to come (Hebrew 6:5 and Acts 4:7-8). Even the Kingdom of Yahweh is not in word, but in (dunamis) power (I Corinthians 4:20). We are now translated into the Kingdom (Colossians 1:13), as Believers have been since the New Testament Pentecost, when they were imbued with (dunamis) power from on high. Yahshua not only gave the 12, the 70, the 120 power, but all who should believe on Him, were given the power of the Kingdom, by the Holy Spirit (Mark 16:16-18). Some say that this passage should not be in the Bible, but Acts 8:7 shows that unclean spirits were cast out after Yahshua was impaled. The man Philip, recorded here, was probably not an apostle. (See Acts 6:5) Others may say, "Only the apostles were given power to do miracles, cast out demons and heal the sick. Your Bible says there would be some "having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away." (II Timothy 3:5) Psalm 149:4-9 speaks of deliverance. It says, "He (Yahweh) will beautify the meek with salvation...let the high praises of Yah be in their mouth, and a two edged sword in their hand; To execute vengeance upon the heathen and punishments upon the people; To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; To execute upon them judgment written: this honor have all his saints. Praise ye Yahweh." The two edged sword in the hand of the saints is, of course, the Word of Yahweh (Ephesians 6:17). The heathen and the people are unclean spirits who have kings and nobles over them in rank. We saints have been given the power to execute judgment on them! Praise Yah! Ephesians 6:12 tells us, "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in 1high places." However, we have been given power to overcome these wicked spirits, through Yahshua. He gave His followers the power to bind and loose. He said, "Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in

heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." (Matthew 18:18-20) He gave Peter the "keys of the kingdom of heaven" and said, "...and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." (Matthew 16:19) The church assembly is built on what Yahshua gave him (verse 18). Yahshua said to the Philadelphia Church that He has the Key of David and He opens and no man can shut or He shuts and no man can open (Revelation 3:7). He has given us a set of keys, too. We have the keys to binding and loosing heavenly beings, by His name and because of His sacrifice. Those are the keys to the kingdom of heaven! What more could we ask for? Casting out demons, doing miracles, and healing the sick require binding demon spirits and loosing angels from the heavenly realm, by using the name of Yahshua (Mark 9:38), claiming the sacrifice of His body to heal our bodies, and accepting the sacrifice of His blood for our redemption. Because of His authority over them, they must obey. He has delegated this authority to us! These are the keys to the kingdom of heaven! We are more than conquerors through Him! After we have become "partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of Elohim, and the powers of the world to come" (Hebrews 6:4-5), we are forever changed. We are bound by the blood covenant in an everlasting relationship. His blood does all of the following: He purchased the flock with His own blood. (Acts 20:28) When we were far from Yahweh, He brought us near, with Yahshua's blood. (Ephesians 2:13) He made peace through the blood of His stake and reconciled all things to Himself. (Colossians 1:20) We were redeemed with the precious blood of the Anointed, as of a lamb without blemish or spot. (I Peter 1:18-19) His was the blood of an everlasting covenant, whereby Yahshua is working is us "that which is well pleasing in His sight." (Hebrews 13:20-21) Yahshua's blood cleanses us from all sin. (I John 1:7) He is cleaning us up, making us whiter than snow. (Psalms 51:7)

The one who makes us dirty is Satan, that old serpent, called the Devil, who was cast to earth along with his angels. A loud voice in heaven said, "...for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before Yahweh day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony..." (Revelations 12:9-11) There is power in the blood!
