Greetings Prince Hall Grand Chapter Ways and Means Department wishes to extend our appreciation for all your support for the year 2011. Your support with this year s Grand Chapter Queen Contest far exceeded our expectation, and was a great success. The Grand Chapter s Queen Contest is a major fund-raiser and a very successful one. This year the Grand Chapter was able assist two students by providing them with a grant that will help cover some of their expenses. The Grand Worthy Matron has asked that each Chapter submit the name of at least one member of their Chapter to participate in the Grand Queen Contest for 2012, however there s no limit as to how many members can participate within your Chapter. The sister that raises the most money will be crowned as the O.E.S. Grand Queen at 2012 Grand Communication. The goal is raise funds so that we can provide young students with educational financial assistance. Remember the Chapters are the foundation for the success of this project and your support is required. The Grand Worthy Matron expects our best effort. With all of us working together we can achieve! Each Chapter and each contestant (one by one) will ultimately help us reach our goal. A percentage of the proceeds raised for this event will go towards our the Grand Chapter Scholarship Program. The Contestant who raises the highest amount of funds over $2000.00 will be crowned as the Grand Chapter Queen and will receive hotel accommodations the following year for two nights (the day before and night of the banquet) free admission to Grand Communication and Banquet the following year and a convertible car to ride in as Grand Queen in the Martin Luther King Jr. parade the following year. The current year she will receive a Grand Chapter trophy, a sash, a robe and recognition at the Grand Communication banquet, an invitation by the Grand Worthy Matron to join her at all Grand Visitations as the Grand Queen, and will sit in front of the Dais during Grand Communication after being crowned. The Grand Queen will also receive a Past Grand Queen Crown at the next Grand Communication. 2. If no Contestant raises $2000.00 or more the contestant who raises the highest amount of funds over $1500.00 will be crowned as the Grand Chapter Queen and will receive, hotel accommodations the following year for one night (the day of the banquet) ) free admission to the Banquet the following year and a convertible car to ride in as Grand Queen in the Martin Luther King Jr. parade the following year. The current year she will receive, a Grand Chapter trophy, a sash, a robe and recognition at the Grand Communication banquet, an invitation by the Grand Worthy Matron to join her at all Grand Visitations as the Grand Queen, and will sit in front of the Dais during Grand Communication after being crowned. The Grand Queen will also receive a Past Grand Queen Crown at the next Grand Communication. 5. The first and second runner-ups will each receive a sash, a Grand Chapter trophy, and recognition will be given to them in all OES functions throughout the Jurisdiction should she be present. 6. Each Contestant will receive 10% of funds raised within 60 days after Grand Communication.
7. All regalia of the Grand Queen, the 1 st and 2 nd runners up must be returned the following year to the Grand Chapter Queen Department at Grand Communication. 8. If the Grand Queen is not able to attend Grand Communication, the banquet, or the parade the following year she will be represented by 1 st runner, if she is not able to attend then the 2 nd runner up will represent the Grand Queen.
Prince Hall Grand Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star State of Hawaii and its Jurisdiction Inc Grand Queen Official Rules and Regulations Participant must be a female member of the Eastern Star of Hawaii Jurisdiction Application, together with a brief resume and picture must be submitted to the Grand Chapter by April 30, 2012. Contestants must wear white formal regalia and a small tiara for the coronations. Grand Queen will be crowned upon winning. The crown, robe, and sash will be presented to her for the ensuring year. The Grand Queen will be crowned for one year and returned the following year at Grand Communication to assist in crowning the new Grand Queen. No entry fee for Grand Queen Competition, the contestant who raises the highest amount of funds will be crowned Grand Queen. The final report for the Grand Queen competition must be made at Grand Communication site, as set by the Grand Chapter. All monies for Grand Queen must be submitted to the Grand Chapter on June 1, 2012 at Grand Communication. All cashier checks or money orders must be made to Prince Hall Grand Chapter of Hawaii. No personal checks will be accepted at the Communication site.
