For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:16-17 Dear Brother Knights, Families, and Friends, The Easter Season is drawing to a close and we can concentrate on God s gift to us, Jesus Christ, in union with the Holy Spirit. We have been blessed to receive multiple offers to purchase our hall. The first offer was terminated since the buyer did not maintain contact with us and we have chosen another buyer. We voted to remain an independent Council and plan to lease another location to meet. We will remain in limbo for a while until we determine where we plan to lease. Thanks for the attendance at our last BDBA and Business meeting. I informed the Council that I plan to run as the Grand Knight for next year. We have had many of the Knights and families helping to clean up the hall and I thank you for your time and help. On a sad note, PGK John Freeman, passed away on Sunday, 13 March. Many of our Council members attended the Memorial Mass on Friday, 18 March 2016. The 4th Degree Knights from Council 2813 were able to help celebrate and honor John s commitment to the James Gallagher Assembly. Food Handler Card of Fort Worth Log in to www.foodhandlercardonline.com Charge is $9.99 for a two hour online class with no test at the end of bring online for two hours. If you complete the class before the two hours are up, then it clearly states that the clock will not start again till you start the class over again. I was able to read the course three times and then waited for the class to complete. At the end of two hours, you can print out the Food Handler Certificate and the card on printer paper. This card is good for two years.

Church Jack Kearney, PGK The Knights of Columbus Parish Masses will be on April 24th at 10:00 AM at Saint Francis Village and 11:00 AM at Saint Bartholomew. We ask all Knights to sit with their families for the Mass. Wear your KC badge if you have one. We would like to get more parishes involved in the KC Masses. Please let me know if your Parish is going to start a KC Mass so we can include that information in the bulletin. Pro-Life Jack Kearney, PGK Our next Pro-Life Mass will be on Monday, April 25th at Saint Francis Village Chapel. The Rosary will begin at 7:05 PM followed with the Mass at 7:30 PM. Refreshments will follow in the exercise room. Please come join us in praying for Pro-Life. There was an article in the local newspaper last week about how hard it is for women in Texas to get an abortion. What they really mean is; a woman might have to wait to get an abortion where the woman is protected my state law. That is, she has to have a real doctor and at a facility that has the proper resources to handle any problem that might occur. In other words, the woman is going to have an operation and it should be in a place where the woman is protected. Of course this would mean that Planned Parenthood would not get their share from the state. Ever wonder just how much Planned Parenthood gets from killing babies? Sunshine Paul Maher Many of our Brothers and family members are in need of our daily prayers. Please notify me if you want me to remove or add someone s name to the bulletin's prayer list. Our Council has decided, if we don't hear from you after four months, I will start removing names and place them on our long term prayer list on the Council bulletin board at the hall. Call me at 817-319-3971 or e-mail me at pmaher1901@yahoo.com or paul.maher@lmco.com. Also, notify me if you want me to send a Get Well or Sympathy Card to someone. Also, for our Brother Knights, their wives or their family members that have passed away, please notify me so a Gate Fold of Spiritual Union of Perpetual Adoration can be given to surviving family members. Individuals on our current prayer are: PGK Drew Armentrout and his mother Bother Richard Beckrich and his wife Louise Louise Crichton (Sister of PGK Jim Justice) Richard Collins Family David Delgado Emma Delila (Great Granddaughter of Brother Woodie Hill) PGK Vic Fedor Liz Freeman (Wife of Deceased PGK John Freeman) Frank Fosdick Family Ruth Kemp (Wife of PGK Tom Kemp)

Father Bob Leonhardt Brother Paul Maher and his wife Shirley Charlie Naughton Linda LaFleur (Wife of Brother John LaFleur) Cindy Lopez (Daughter of PGK Bill Miller and wife Georgia) Ray Parra Family Brother Gene Phillips PGK Raymond and his wife Dianna Ramos PGK Charlie Valdez Eddie Veale (Son-in-Law of Brother Bob Bienski) Pray for our country and its leaders, especially our President and all our military and their families. The power of prayer is strong indeed and we should wield that power often. Community Brad Pierce The Presbyterian Night Shelter (PNS) Sandwich Making Night is still on the fourth Tuesday of the month at St. Francis Village, at 7:00 PM sharp - Arrive Early! The next PNS evening will be Tuesday, April 26th. We also continue to collect toiletry, clothing, medicine and medical items for adults and children in the care of PNS; bring them with you when you come. "THANK YOU!" We received a very nice thank you letter from the Presbyterian Night Shelter thanking our Council and Saint Francis Village for " your kind support and your heart for the homeless." They let us know that we really make an impact. In 2015, we helped PNS do the following: Shelter to 4,335 individual adults, including 407 veterans Shelter 396 children Offer 240 chapel services Provide tutoring for 130 students and Serve 494,000 meals! Best of all 728 men, women and children were helped to move on to self-sufficiency! We were thanked repeatedly in the letter. Way to go team!! Give yourself a big pat on the back! Your tireless effort to help with sandwich night and the very generous donations (we've filled an SUV with nonfood donations the last 3 months!) are always well received. The day started off slowly and I did not think that we would be able to sell anything, but after getting several of the Knights to eat Chicken-on-a-stick, then we started to sell. We sold 480 Chicken-on-a-Stick. The large white coolers with the dry ice maintained the Chicken and kept them frozen all day. It took about an hour to set up with a canopy over our heads. We did well for our first time our and plan to sell at the Cojunto Fest in Fort Worth at Billy Bobs in the Stock yards on Sunday, 24 April 2016. We also planned to sell foot-long corn dogs at the next event. I look forward to more support at this next endeavor. Ladies Auxiliary Georgia Miller The Council 2813 Ladies Auxiliary will meet for their monthly luncheon on Tuesday, April 12th at l:00 PM at the Prima Pasta Restaurant which is located at Hulen and Granbury Road. Our turnout has been great from 12-16 ladies. If you have not joined us for lunch previously, we'd love to have you. It's a great way for us to stay in touch until our council has a meeting place.

Nominating Committee 2016/2017 John LaFluer/PGK Bill Miller/Tony Garcia Elections will be held at the Business Meeting on June 13. We d like to mention just a few of the convention highlights. Friday morning the golfers are off to participate in a little friendly competition. There will be a Clergy Seminar followed by the Clergy Luncheon. Please contact your Priests and Council Chaplains now and ask them to please put this on their calendar. On Friday afternoon we have planned the Awards Ceremony. Please make plans to attend this important event. Please help us congratulate all the work done by the various individual Knights and their Councils. Following the Awards Ceremony, we will celebrate our Opening Mass with Bishop Michael Mulvey as the principal celebrant. The Convention Committee has planned a Friday Night Luau starting at 7:00 p.m. On Saturday morning the Convention Business Session begins with the State Deputy s Report. Everyone is invited to attend the State Deputy s Report. Following the report, the business of the Knights begins. The day will conclude with our wonderful State Banquet. On Sunday morning the ladies will meet for breakfast while the men wrap up their business meetings. Immediately after the convention closes, our State Executive Secretary, Michael McLaughlin will meet with the elected Supreme Convention Delegates and anyone who plans to attend the 134th Supreme Convention in Toronto, Canada. As we gather in Corpus Christi, this will be our last official meeting as your State Deputy and First Lady of Texas, the Largest Jurisdiction in the World. It has been an honor to represent all of you in our great State. We want to thank everyone for all their hard work and their dedication to the Knights. You have certainly made these past two years very special. We hope you have had as much fun as we have had. We re looking forward to seeing you in Corpus Christi... we re going to HAVE FUN.
