Neil & Lori Garchinski Parish Pastoral Council Co-Chair WORLD MISSION SUNDAY Rediscovering Mission at the Heart of Christian Faith. This year, World Mission Sunday will take place next Sunday, October 22. That that day, we celebrate who we are as Christians: MISSIONARY DISCIPLES. It is a time of prayer. We are also invited to look beyond our local Church in Canada and assist through financial gifts, the missionary work needed in the young dioceses in many developing countries An example of this is providing health care centers, building schools, and empowering lay pastoral workers, construction of convents and presbyteries. Please pray for the missions. World Mission Sunday represents a global sign of the universal Church and Mission. We are invited to reach out and help build the Church in the most remote areas across our world. Your prayers and donations will support churches, hospitals, schools, and vocations to priesthood and religious life. Please show your generosity as much as possible during this collection, because it provides assistance to the young dioceses in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Pacific Islands.

The life of Christian stewardship challenges us to see God, and not ourselves, as the true source of all we have and to see these things not as commodities we ve earned to do with as we choose, but as gifts we ve been given to fulfill God s own purpose. The Archbishop s Appeal invites us to make Christian stewardship an integral part of our daily lives, making a return to God in proportion to what we have been given. Thinking Faith!
