Winter Banquet Recap If you did not know last weekend was Tsali Lodge's Winter Banquet. I would like to personally thank everyone for a great night. We started the evening with our drum/sing team, Twisted Rawhide, and the grass dancers from Crew 891. Both groups did an amazing job and were definitely a good way to show off a small portion of what Tsali can do. Next up was our group dance team. They performed the Cherokee Friendship Dance, which was one of the dances from last year s Dixie Fellowship. After that was the Officer Induction Ceremony. This is where our youth Lodge Leaders take an oath of office and are recognized in front of the Lodge. We ate a delicious dinner and moved on to the awards and recognition of the night. It was hosted by our Vice Chief of Program, Tyler MacAlister. There were plenty of awards handed out. Some of them include Travis Broadhurst being inducted into the Warrior's Society for his many years of work into the Indian Affairs program, Tony Johnson earning the James E West Fellow Award, and Lucas Johnson and Randall Barnett receiving the Founder s Award for the work they have done for our lodge. There were plenty of other notable awards handed out through the night as well. The night ended with Tony and Ryan addressing the lodge. Tony started by telling us about the Tsali Lodge STEM center he would like to fundraise to be built at Camp Daniel Boone. The night ended with reassuring the lodge that he will continue doing what is best for the lodge. I hope to see everyone interested in either Indian Affairs or another committee at the Indian Affairs / Committee Practice day on Dec 10th and 17th. - Zachary Haas, Tsali Lodge Ceremonies Chairman

2017 Dixie Fellowship Winter IA Practices & Committee Work Days Hello Bow readers! If you are a member of an Indian Affairs team or if you are interested in joining the IA teams (Drum, Dance, or Ceremonies) mark these dates on your calendar. - December tenth at Macedonia Baptist Church - December seventeenth at Daniel Boone Council Service Center April is still a long ways away but Dixie will come faster than you expect. 2017 is going to be one of the best Dixie's ever! On April 28th, we will all gather at Camp Barstow in Columbia SC for the 2017 Dixie. There will be 2 new major additions to Dixie next year.there will be a lodge fair on Friday night where each lodge will have a display set up and arrowmen running fun games and giving away cool prizes to everyone who comes by, there will also be music and food too! Another new item that could was approved at the recent Council of Chief's was the NEXT guide, which is a collection of all the unique things that make Tsali Special. There will still be the same compositions and quest events that we expect and love as well. Last year we won 1st place in the Triathlon, it will go back to just being a cross country run again this year, but we will still get the blue ribbon See you at Barstow! The following committees will plan to meet. Lodge NEXT Guide Committee Lodge Display Committee Where to go Camping Guide Committee Election/Camping Committee Brotherhood Conversion Committee Lodge Website Committee Membership and Finance Committee If you would be interested on being on any of these committees please Email me at administration@ For more information please watch for upcoming e-mails. Hope to see you there! - Josh Morrow, Vice Chief of Administration - Pierce Asaad, Lodge Chief Emeritus Page 3

2017 Lodge Dues Bothers, I encourage all of you to pay your dues for 2017. Dues are a good way of showing our growth in past and future; it also helps the Lodge achieve Journey to Excellence. I hope you all get your dues paid and come out to all of our events. Visit https://www.danielboonecouncil.org/oa, at the bottom of the page, you can pay your annual dues to Tsali Lodge, or use the attached form below. - Eli Kayne, Tsali Lodge Treasurer Upcoming Brotherhood Opportunities Did you do your Ordeal in Spring of 2016 or before? Then you are ELIGIBLE for Brotherhood. There are many Brotherhood opportunities for you and your friends to seal your membership in Tsali Lodge! 2017 April 7-9 - Spring Fellowship May 19-21 - Spring Ordeal August 18-20 - Summer Ordeal October 6-8 - Fall Fellowship Featured Patch Here is one of the best and probably elusive patch sets that were made available by order only. This was the NOAC sponsor set for 2012. There were only 70 sets made and they came with a letter of authenticity. The patch set was given for a donation of $50 plus. They were limited to 1 per member. This is one tough set to acquire. They do come available occasionally but will require a very good patch or patches on trade or some serious cash. Good luck in adding this set to your collection. -Weldon Clinard Need help? Brotherhood Candidate Information is available at, under Resources. We hope to see everyone come back to these events and have a great time! - Trevor Nail, Tsali Lodge Secretary Page 4
