EVANGELISM TRAINING / MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES BRIDGE BUILDING NEW! Bobby Parks Chapel Option 1: Jan. 10 Feb. 21 / Option 2: Mar. 7 Apr. 25 Bridge Building will be our new tool for learning how to have relaxed, spiritual conversations with people. This will focus on listening to understand them as a means to being able to more effectively share the gospel. It is more of a mindset to grasp than a method to present to others. It will be as individual in its approach as each person in the class and each person to whom you talk. This is something anyone can do! THE BRIDGE TO LIFE Dan Allison G101 BTL is our simple method of sharing the Gospel using Romans 6:23. Come investigate how to use this excellent and simple tool. The class will be taught by Dan Allison and will follow the MidWeek schedule. This training includes on-the-job training, visiting church visitors and answering their questions as they answer ours. GRIEFSHARE Mark Cushman W202 A 13-week seminar and support group for those who are grieving the death of a loved one. Each session includes a discussion based on a video presentations dealing with grief. Participants are welcome to start attending any time during the quarter. FOSTER PARENT LICENSING CLASSES Amy Lattner G103 Orientation Jan. 3; Classes begin Jan. 17 This course is for those desiring to serve as foster parents or foster-to-adopt parents. The course is led by a DHR Representative and a certified foster parent. This GPS (Group Preparation and Selection) class is required by the county for an individual/couple planning to serve as foster parent(s), yet does not obligate the person. This training is for both Shelby County and Jefferson County residents. Come join us toward being licensed to offer foster care to the kids in our community. You are desperately needed! CROWN FINANCIAL STUDIES M200 Learn about biblical stewardship by joining a 10-week Crown Financial Study Group. Average Crown graduates within three years of completing the course have: reduced personal debt, 38%; significantly increased savings, 50%; increased charitable giving, 70%; and increased Bible reading by 64%. In addition to offering financial literacy for those who call for assistance, we also teach participants how to get and keep a job. Volunteers are needed to coach the participants in applying the principles learned in class. Our goal is to learn 400 additional signs (with daily practice) and increase exposure to and communication with the deaf community. Our goal is to learn 400 additional signs (with daily practice) and increase exposure to and communication with the deaf community. Our goal is to learn 1) religious signs (with daily practice), 2) practical interpreting techniques using expressive and receptive skills in a class room and real time setting, and 3) increase exposure to and have communications with the deaf community.

CO-ED STUDIES GALATIANS Olan Stubbs FH-E&F (Mar. 7 Apr. 25) This study begins March 7 and will be a great study for those who were in the seven week Bridge Building training. We will study Galatians to discover how to rightly apply God s law in our lives as we seek to grow in the Grace of Christ that saved us. During our time we will focus on equipping and training in discipleship methods and tools and we will practice and discuss in small groups. DAVID S LIFE THROUGH THE PSALMS Kristie Harrick M111 Journey with us as we walk through David s life in I and II Samuel with weekly stops in the Psalms that David wrote during particular events in his life. We will watch as David grows in his trust and confidence in the Lord. We will journey with him in his victories and in his deeply troubled times. As we study, we will be pointed beyond David s circumstances to see the goodness of our Heavenly Father in all situations and seasons of life. LAY COUNSELING / PRACTICAL MINISTRY TRAINING Stephen Cloud A209 Lay Counseling/Practical Ministry Training is a two-semester course that begins in the fall. It not only equips you to begin counseling at the lay level, but it builds your knowledge base to more effectively conduct personal ministry whether over the fence, over coffee, or in various roles in the church. This is a great opportunity to sharpen your skills for personal ministry as well as test the waters to see if the Lord may direct you to become active in the counseling ministry.
