Dear friends: The Sacred Paschal Triduum, our greatest liturgical celebrations of the year begins with the Liturgy of the Last Supper celebrated on Holy Thursday moves into the Liturgy of the Lord s Passion on Good Friday and then the glorious celebration of the Easter Vigil. I would expect that all churches would be packed with worshipers on these days. However, experience over the years reveals something very disappointing. This year I want to invite each of you to join me in celebrating the Easter Triduum. I don t want you to merely sit at home and recall these great events. I would like you here with me participating and celebrating, entering into the mysteries so that they are not merely past events but present realities. My sisters and brothers, please come and be seated at the Lord s Supper with the apostles. Come stand at the foot of the cross on Good Friday. Come celebrate with great joy the empty tomb of Easter. May our celebrating the Easter Triduum together and the Easter season that follows allow us to make Christ s story our story. On behalf of the parish staff of Saint Mary Our Lady of Grace, I extend to our parish family and guests heartfelt blessings during this holy season. What is the RCIA? The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the process by which unbaptized adults (and children over the age of 7) are welcomed into the Catholic Church through Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist. It is also a way for people baptized in another Christian faith to join the Catholic Church. Are you seeking a spiritual home? Are you curious about Jesus? Would you like to know more about what the Catholic Church teaches and how we worship? Phone Saint Mary Our Lady of Grace at (727) 896-2191, extension 207. This project is aptly named "Sew Much Hope" and participants meet monthly in the Mirror Lake area for just two hours. Local teacher volunteers play with children in an adjacent room while the parents are learning to sew. If you would like to be a part of this service project - playing with children, helping the women sew, or providing materials for the projects, please contact us.
