St. Peter Parish Cambridge, MA From the Pastor Once again, thank you to all who helped with and attended the Holy Week Services! They felt very prayerful and great celebrations of faith! A number of quick things this week: Thank you to the parish and school for the wonderful response to our Bed for Every Child program. More than $10,000 and lots of bed linens were donated. We are working now to try and have Sr. Linda come to a Sunday Mass so we can present her with all the donations. Please don t lose sight of the Catholic Appeal 2018 request for donations to the Archdiocese. You may mail your donation directly to the Archdiocese. We hope to reach our parish goal in the very near future. We keep in our prayers: those received into the life of the church this Easter Season (especially Jennifer and Julie) those who will be confirmed in the Holy Spirit and those who are finishing their preparations for First Eucharist. Pray for Our Confirmation Candidates Twenty-two of our young parishioners are preparing to receive the sacrament of Confirmation on April 14, at St. Paul s Church. Please pray that the Holy Spirit enlivens their faith and guides their thoughts, prayers, and relationships throughout their lives. Struggling in Your Marriage? You Are not Alone If your marriage is tearing the two of you apart, if there is little or no meaningful communication, if you are considering separation or divorce, we believe Retrouvaille can help. You are not alone! Our peer ministry is led by couples who have lived through the honeymoon phase often followed by deep disillusionment before finally finding resurrection in their marriages using the tools taught in this program. Rediscover a loving marriage with a Retrouvaille (pronounced re-tro-vy) weekend. The next New England Retrouvaille marriage renewal weekend will be held on April 13-15 in Tewksbury. To register or for more information, call 1-800-470-2230 or visit www.helpourmarriage.com. Cover Art Thank you to Alexandra Whitney, a 5th Grade student at St. Peter School, for creating this week s beautiful bulletin cover. Well done, Alexandra! First Communion Prayer Partners As our children prepare to receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist in May, we invite the St. Peter community to support and encourage them through prayer. We invite you to sign the picture board, located in the transept left of the altar, to become a prayer partner to the children. Please include them in your daily prayers and with the community during weekend liturgies. Know that our children appreciate the power of your prayers, which the Lord always hears. Thank you for supporting our children s spiritual growth. Pope Tweets @Pontifex Through the Eucharist we enter Christ s paschal mystery, allowing us to pass from death to life with Him. March 29, 2018 As we contemplate Christ s empty tomb, let us renew our belief that nothing is lost with Him! April 2, 2018 Love is the only invincible weapon, because it has the power to disarm the forces of evil. April 4, 2018 4
