January 28, 2017 9:00 am to 12:00 noon A new year is always a time to start fresh and refresh. Thoughts of organizing closets as we put away Christmas decorations and gifts motivate us to clean up, clear out, and create space for new things in our lives. The new year is when new faces, with new gifts and skills to share, gather as our leadership team. We make room for different people and passions as we plan for ministry and mission as disciples of Jesus Christ. All leaders, even the ones who have been doing the same work for ages, should plan to attend. There will be something new, and fun, for everyone as we learn to work together in 2017. This invitation is extended to anyone interested in how the church works, how work areas work together, and how to be better organized, improve communication, and share ideas and dreams. If the Spirit is encouraging you to learn more about the church or your own gifts to serve Christ, you will want to clear your calendar for Saturday, January 28 from 9am to noon. The coffee will be on, bagels will be toasting, and conversation flowing. All work area chairs will come with dates for meetings and events as we build the calendar for 2017. All other individuals and committee members, new members, and those who have been here forever are encouraged to come and bring your ideas and passions for ministry, including ways this congregation can help you on your discipleship journey. We will work as a team to create goals. In a few short hours, we will encourage, build up, and inspire one another as we focus our gifts for the best year yet! Your presence and participation will make this an amazing day. Please RSVP to Karen Jones in the church office 586.264.4701, by noon, Thursday, January 26, 2017.
