Reaching Up, Reaching Out, Loving God, Loving Others COLD SPRINGS UNITED METHODIST CHURCH The Fountain Be Yourself for God Volume 38, Issue 9 SEPTEMBER 2017 Rabbi Joseph Liebermann describes a dream where he dies and goes to stand before God s judgment seat. As he waits, the rabbi fears that the Lord will ask him, Why weren t you a Moses...or a David...or a Solomon? Instead, God surprises him by simply asking, Why weren t you Rabbi Liebermann? When our lives are over, God won t ask us why we weren t a Mother Teresa or another saintly soul. He simply wants us to be who he created us to be. We are his workmanship, St. Paul writes in Ephesians 2:10. In Greek, workmanship means a piece of art. You are God s masterpiece. Life isn t a game of comparison. It s a journey of discovery of how God has uniquely created you to perform specific tasks in this life. Your life is God s canvas. Don t hinder the painting process! -Mike Paulison Newsletternewsletter September 2017

Page 5 Gifts & Memorials NEEDY FUND Given by: United Methodist Women BUDGET FUND In Honor of Lee Kluttz Given by: Carol Hinson It just does not get any better than this. -- Sounds good, right! It s that time of year again when people flock where the real action is to enjoy mouth watering BBQ and Brunswick Stew at Cold Springs. It is a history of people, and it is best told one story at a time with a little myth. Folks at Cold Springs know how to cook the meat, how to chop it, how to season it, and how to serve it. They know how to mix the stew, and how to stir and cook it to perfection. The aroma of BBQ and Brunswick Stew draws us in for a time of celebration and fellowship. October 28 is the BIG DAY! NOTE: If you do not have a work area, please contact Chairman Tim Hurlocker or Co-Chairman Troy Barnhardt lots of help is always needed. We are indeed happy to welcome Chris & Maggie Taylor into the membership of Cold Springs UMC. May the richest blessings of God be upon our new members. Ryder Taylor, son of Chris & Maggie Taylor, was presented for Christian Baptism on Sunday, August 6, 2017. We welcome Ryder into our church family and pray God s richest blessings upon him. Cold Springs Preschool is open for registration for the 2017-2018 school year. We have a wonderful, caring preschool and would love the opportunity to have your 1-5 year old enrolled. A registration form is on our website coldspringsumc.org, then click the preschool tab. Please call 704-782- 1875 and Carol Hendry, the Preschool Director, will be happy to schedule a tour or answer questions.
