OHIO BAPTIST GENERAL CONVENTION, INC. Dr. Otha Gilyard, President 4125 E. Main Street ~ Columbus, Ohio 43213 ~ 614 235-9829 WOMEN S AUXILIARY Office of the President MRS. MOZELLE E. MEDCALF 1117 4 th Street East ~ South Point, Ohio 45680 740 377-2884 Fax 740 377-3098 e-mail memedcalf@zoominternet.net WOMEN S AUXILIARY PURPOSE An Auxiliary provides a wonderful opportunity for every woman in the church, young or old, to work. Women gathered together in Christ s name united in His cause have a feeling of oneness. From this unity and fellowship, there comes a new courage and power for living a more consecrated and dedicated life. The spiritual life is developed as the result of Bible Study, Prayer and Participating in the programs in the regular meetings. The purpose of the Auxiliary is, first of all, to LIFT UP CHRIST, in the individual lives of its members and collectively as a group. The purpose of an Auxiliary is not, as some suppose, simply a fund-raising organization within the church. Its purpose should be to stimulate interest and zeal in telling of the Good News. We also need to be reminded that we need to encourage and assist in the Bernice P. Borden s Children s Band, the Hattie Jackson Guild, Georgia Millers, and other Youth Organizations of the church. Women have a special talent given to them by God, for teaching children and teenagers, and that talent can be encouraged and properly channeled through proper study and association of the women in auxiliary work. Women have so many opportunities to SERVE. The words of Jesus ring in our ears when He asked, WHY STAND YE HERE ALL THE DAYS IDLE? GO YE ALSO INTO THE VINEYARD, LOOK ON THE FIELDS, FOR THEY ARE WHITE, ALREADY TO HARVEST. OUR GOAL The Auxiliary is to enlist every woman of the church in the work for her Lord, that her Christian character may be strengthen through Christian Fellowship of other women, and therefore, her spiritual life can be developed through Bible Study and Prayer which will allow for Christ to be exalted throughout her life. OUR MISSION STATEMENT Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works, and glorify your father which is in heaven.
