During the reading of the 1st stasis, the choir very softly and slowly sings continually: Blessed art thou, O Lord,

At great vespers and at the divine liturgy nothing is used from the triodion. 3 February 15 / 28 Friday of Cheesefare St Basil the Confessor. The pattern for the service is identical to Wednesday (see above). Texts come from: the octoechos for Friday, tone 2; menaion for February 15; and the Lenten Triodion: Supplementary texts for Thurs evening and Friday in cheese week. Kathisma 15 is read at vespers; kathismas 19 and 20 at matins. At 6th hour, reading: Zechariah 8:7-17. Divine Liturgy is not served. 3 The lenten triodion aposticha verses (idiomela) for the day that would otherwise sung at vespers are moved to small vespers. Those that would be sung at matins are sung at the matins praises along with those of the saint. The triodion canon and three-canticled canons are sung at another time in advance of the day. If St Raphael is celebrated as a polyeleos-rank saint, somewhat more material from the triodion is incorporated into the service.
