Over the winter months we will be collecting new, handmade hats to be given out at the parish Community Dinners to those in need. All handmade hats are welcome! Baskets for hat donations will be at the entrances of all the churches beginning December 16 & 17. Hats remaining at the end of the season will be donated to The Haven in White River Junction. There will be no 9:30am Mass. 2018 Church Calendars The 2018 church calendars have arrived and can be picked up at the entrances of the church. Thank you to Ricker s Funeral Home for donating them. The Sacred Heart Choir will be singing at the LaSalette Chapel Sunday, December 17 at 5:15 pm. All are welcome to come and listen to their beautiful music and view the Christmas lights! Your Advent journey will take on new meaning as you prepare your heart for the birth of our Lord. Pastoral Care Visitors are available to share communion and conversation with the ill and homebound in our parish. If you, a family member, or a friend cannot come to Mass, we can bring our parish family to you. We have several who have offered to drive parishioners to Mass. The Bible Study group will not be meeting on December 24th or on December 31st. Meetings will resume in the New Year and it s not too late to join us! Student Seating at Mass On the first Sunday of every month, students will be sitting in the reserved pews up front at 9:30am Mass. Greeters are needed to come early, welcome parishioners and pass out the children s bulletins to the youngest members of the parish. Upcoming Epiphany Pageant The Epiphany Pageant will take place Sunday, January 7, 2018 following the 9:30am Mass. Practices will be 12/17/17 and 1/6/18. Adult help is needed with breakfast, costume assignment, stage support and music. Students who would like to participate should sign up on Sunday, or email dffsheartlebanon@gmail.com. Religious Education students in the homeschool, hybrid and traditional programs at Sacred Heart and St. Mary's are encouraged to participate. Every child who is available will have a role (non-speaking, speaking and even backstage for the bashful). Sacred Heart has established a prayer chain of committed parishioners who will readily accept the role of praying for the needs of those who request prayers. During the Rite of Acceptance, the inquirer stands amidst the parish community and states that he or she wants to become a baptized member of the Catholic Church. The parish assembly affirms this desire and the inquirer becomes a Catechumen. Let us all welcome the new catechumen and candidates and keep them in prayer as they continue their formation.
