Swedish Knight ff Trd klfkj.hjk YOUR Council Newsletter The Knights of Columbus St. Catherine of Sweden Council No. 10411 District 100 Vol. I, No. 1 St. Catherine of Sweden Parrish Wildwood, Pennsylvania July/August 2006 From the Grand Knight My Dear Brother Knights, It is my pleasure to announce that at the June meeting that election of officers was held and I was elected to be your Grand Knight. I am both honored and humbled that I was chosen to lead such a great council with a great history, one that you should be proud of and while it is true that our numbers are small we continue to do good work; we must not forget our most dire need for new members; we need men who are alive with the faith and want to serve their church. It is up to us as Knights to spread the word of our good deeds, not out of pride but as an affirmation of our faith, in the hopes that it will stir others to join us. We must all work together in this endeavor. Just as Columbus and his men worked together to sail their ships, so too must we do the same; as Grand Knight I cannot do everything, I am merely a guide trying to keep our course steady but we must all do our part and man the rigging, if we are to stay afloat and grow again. In the hopes of better serving you, my fellow brother knights, I will continue the newsletter. It is my hope that, in addition to keeping you informed of the happenings of our council and of the surrounding knight s community, it will foster better communication among fellow brothers. I pledge to you that I will dedicate myself to serving this council to the best of my ability and be available at all times to you. At the end of the newsletter, is a survey please take a moment and fill it out and send it back to me Yours Fraternally, Sir Knight Kevin D. O Connor Grand Knight Cell: 412-680-5384 Address: 3069 Camberly Dr. Gibsonia Pa, 15044 Email: Kevo1701@hotmail.com
Results of the election of the June Meeting Treasurer: Matthew Schroeder Recorder: Ronald Dowing Inside Guard: Kirk Mitchell Outside Guard: Anthony Vitullo Trustee 1st year Pat Mazzotta Our Financial Secretary is still John Parrish and our Chaplin is Fr. Regis Farmer I look forward to working with these gentlemen to help me lead this council to the best of my ability. Call for officers and Directors We are in need to fill a few positions in the council. One is the Deputy Grand Knight position. This is obviously an executive level position. The Deputy Grand Knight is the Grand Knight s right hand man. He assists the Grand Knight in all matters that the GK deems necessary and runs meetings in the absence of the GK. Director Positions There are seven director positions open, they are: a. Program Director=primary role is to oversee the various directors and help plan and schedule events. b. Membership Director= Primary role is to work on promoting membership in the council by planning membership recruiting drives. c. Church Director= activities that serve the church s needs d. Community Director= activities that serve the parish and surrounding community e. Council Director= social activities that foster unity and fraternity among the brotherhood. f. Family Director= activities that serve the families in our community. g. Ads/Publicity = Will be in charge of promoting the council within the parish and to the surrounding community. This includes other parishes. By choosing to become a director does not mean you stand on your own to do all the work. I would never ask that of ANYONE. But, it does mean that you
are responsible for assembling a committee (one or two other guys) to organize and plan activities in your particular area. If you need help all you need to do is ask the council.
