From the Desk of Fr. Chris... Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ, I would like to extend my deepest appreciation to everyone who contributed to our Annual Catholic Appeal (ACA) last year. We were able to meet and exceed the amount assessed by the Diocese of San Diego. I can only attribute the success of last year s ACA to your deep faith in Jesus Christ, which you have so genuinely expressed through your generous support of His Church. Our ACA assessment for the year 2018 is $51,000. Once again, I would like to stress that ACA donations are NOT used for secular or legal purposes. Rather, they are used to support these essential Christian ministries: Youth and Young Adult Ministry Catholic Schools Marriage and Family Life Vocations to the Priesthood St. Francis Center in San Diego Continuing Education for Priests Emergency, Food and Shelter Pregnancy, Parenting and Adoption Services Senior Citizen Programs Family and Individual Counseling My plan to meet our ACA assessment is simple: If you gave last year, please try to give the same amount this year, if you could. If you weren t able to give last year, I humbly ask that you take some time to prayerfully consider how much you can give to this year s appeal, if you are able. Any amount will help. Your continued generosity in support of our local Diocese is vital to the mission of the Universal Catholic Church. God will never be outdone in generosity. I pray that He may bless you abundantly in return for your kindness and generous acts. Peace and blessings, Fr. Chris Page 2

This appeal supports charitable needs throughout the Diocese of San Diego. Please make your intention to the Annual Catholic Appeal. You can make your contribution online at giving.sdcatholic.org, or by picking up a combo brochure/response card here at the parish. K. Chesterton A Message From Our Parish Security Coordinator Dear Parishioners, Today's world has changed in many ways. Certain events, recently in the news, have made it increasingly necessary for some measures to be implemented wherever people gather. As your security chief, and after visiting with Father Chris, the best decision is to provide a passive security watch at all the weekend masses as well as special events. We seek parishioners who would like to participate in such security coverage for all our parishioners. If you are interested in our security force, please send your name, mass time that you usually attend, e- mail address and telephone number to me, Sam Salazar, at sal26@cox.net. Your cooperation will be greatly appreciated. CRAFTS AND GOODS FAIRE The Saint Martin of Tours Women's Club is pleased to announce their Spring Craft and Goods Fair, a juried show to be held on Sunday, April 29, 2018, from 7am to 1230pm. There is a limited number of spaces. To reserve a table to sell your crafts or goods please call Gloria Felix at (805)766-2268 or Veronica Rodriguez at (323)632-6066 for more information.
