November 5, 2017 Faith Formation News Director: Kathy Burns (518)237-0370; (518)428-6353 Beginning Wednesday, November 8 th, we will be offering a 5-week adult Faith Formation series on the Mass titled Altaration, The Mystery of The Mass Revealed. This is a perfect opportunity for parents who are waiting for their children attending faith formation classes. It will be presented in the dining room of the parish center beginning at 6pm and ending at 6:45pm every Wednesday that class is in session. Please join us in deepening our understanding of the Mass. Parents & parishioners are encouraged to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity for spiritual growth. The program is free. SOUPER SATURDAY MOVIE NIGHT will take place in the church hall on Saturday, November 18 th after the 4pm Mass (approximately 5pm). We will have various types of soup, bread, beverages & dessert. After a light meal, we will view the movie The 13 th Day, a feature film about the powerful message of Fatima. There will be door prizes at this free faith sharing event. Parent meeting for children making First Eucharist this spring will be on Wednesday, November 15 th, at 6pm. Parents meeting for Confirmation Candidates will be on Wednesday, November 15 th, at 7:15pm. Students will attend their regular class. Both meetings will be in the parish center and will end in time to pick up your child. If you cannot attend, please elect a responsible adult to attend on your behalf who would be willing to convey important information to you. Students attended the Mass for All Saints day on Wednesday, November 1 st. HERE'S WHAT WE WILL BE LEARNING NEXT WEEK Grade 1: We are learning about God's special gifts and guardian angels. The story of Adam and Eve will be presented. Grade 2: We continue to learn about the Sacrament of Reconciliation in preparation for our first Confession in December. We are working in our activity book and finishing our activity packet. Grade 3: We will explore the lives of some of the Saints. Our kindness wreath is becoming bigger every week. Review of prayers continues. Grade 4: Our prayer chain continues to grow each week. We are completing our hand-made Rosaries. We will be reviewing the Mysteries and prayers of the Rosary. Grade 5: We continue to explore God the Father's role in our lives by examining what it means to be made in His image and man's fall from grace. Grade 6/7: We will conclude our unit on The Rosary by completing our hand-made Rosaries. We continue to study the Gospel message for Sunday and participate in Adoration. Grade 8/9: We continue to explore the Gospel of Matthew. This week we will begin Chapter 3 and study the preachings of John the Baptist. We continue to participate in Adoration. Grade 10: We conclude our unit on the Rosary. Discussion of community service and the Spiritual & Corporal works of Mercy will continue. Monday night students: Will study the prayers of the Rosary and the 4 sets of Mysteries with a focus on each Mystery in each set. We will be making Rosaries.
