NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS S, F 27 L L R We are happy to announce that St. Francis de Sales Oratory will be hosting a silent retreat for ladies on Saturday, February 27, 2016. Canon Jean-Marie Moreau, Rector of St. Anthony s Oratory in West Orange, New Jersey, will preach Spiritual Conferences for ladies (17 years and older). Please mark your calendars and look for details in subsequent bulletins. D P : Dear Parents, Children are the joy of our St. Francis de Sales Oratory family, and your reward is great in heaven for generously accepting this gift of Divine Providence. When you have a crying child, particularly during the sermon, the canon of the Mass or when the propers of the Mass texts are sung by the schola, you are kindly asked to make use of the vestibules. You are also requested to prevent the children from running and banging on the pews. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation, and, above all, for your presence here at St. Francis de Sales Oratory. If you have any suggestions as to how we could make it easier for you to care for your children during Mass, please do not hesitate to let us know. T 12:00 N : G T S G W Each month's one-hour tour will now feature a new topic and a wealth of detail that cannot be adequately brought out in a general one-time overview. Meet at the front of the church. The tours are free of charge. Please bring your binoculars. The next tour will be on February 14, 2016 at 12:00pm. Missionary formation: Knowing, loving and serving the Catholic Church! Senior Group 1st Saturday 15-19 Contact: canon.commins@institute-christ-king.org S O E Contribution envelopes are sent out each month to all registered households of the Oratory. These envelopes provide a means for the faithful to financially provide for the Oratory s operating expenses and our many programs. Please remember to use these envelopes when making your weekly donation to the Oratory. To help our office staff, please write your check number on your envelope. In case you have forgotten your envelopes and you wish to leave a check in the donation basket, please write your envelope number on the check. These donation envelopes greatly assist the office staff with budgeting and record keeping. They will also help us send out the end of the year donor acknowledgment letters in a timely manner. Thank you very much. W R U Over the last months, we have been blessed to receive many generous donations towards the repair of our stained glass windows! In less than two months, we have gained 15% more towards our total goal! Thank you! Our first payment will be made to the Emil Frei Company. With your continued prayers and support, we will be able to reach our goal! We have collected so far $73,388.86 of $96,615.00. We are at 73%. In addition, there are two more windows, those immediately to the right of St. Joseph s altar, which are in need of attention. These two windows are of concern since rain comes through during thunderstorms. We hope to start on these two in the future in order to stop the water intrusion. These two will cost around $40,000. Our Lady of Perpetual Help, pray for us! Starting Monday January 11, the church roof repairs will begin. As a result, the parking lot adjacent to the church and the rectory will be closed. Please use the other parking lots and available places around the campus.

TO ALL OUR GUESTS Canon Wiener and the faithful of St. Francis de Sales Oratory welcome you, and hope that your time in the Cathedral of South St. Louis may be an opportunity to share in the tradition of the Roman Catholic Faith. Please enjoy the beauty of this building dedicated to St. Francis de Sales, co-patron of the INSTITUTE OF CHRIST THE KING SOVEREIGN PRIEST. According to liturgical tradition, and the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite, Holy Communion is received kneeling and on the tongue. All visitors who are not of the Catholic faith are welcome to join us in prayer, but are requested not to receive Holy Communion. Because the reception of Holy Communion is the sign of Divine and Ecclesial unity, only practicing Catholics who are free of mortal sin, and in full communion with the Catholic Church should present themselves for Holy Communion. We pray for the full visible unity among all Christians. To receive more information about the Oratory or if you desire to become a member of the Catholic Church, contact the rectory. St. Francis de Sales Oratory is an Oratory of the INSTITUTE OF CHRIST THE KING SOVEREIGN PRIEST in the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
