Paul here gives a word picture of his own experience ^probably the most outstanding vision of his whole life. In the Jewish teaching of Paul's day, the first heaven was the clouds, the second was the stars, and the third was beyond all human vision the seat of divine glory. Spiritually, Paul was advanced to a stage beyond any previous experience. Again Paul was so absorbed in the wonders of the spiritual realm that material things faded and became dim and uninteresting in his glorified state. Does the revelation of God's love make the doctrine of hell incredible? To answer glibly, yes, it certainly does. However, a study of other aspects of the subject would modify or completely change the first impression Punishment and reward are fixed laws of human life. No man can escape their exacting toll Punishment is not an affliction of an austere God, but rather, it is the result of the human choice. If your moy at school in spite of all warning and advice, neglects, trifles and idles, the chances are 19 to 1 that failure and sorrow will be his lot. GEO. M. The school board recently approved an appropriation of thirty dollars per month for a band leader or instructor. Band practice is on jeach Tuesday evening. Prank Green tells us tliat according to old township records the first township officials were elected in 1811. And the minutes of ancient township meetings record how the trustees used to send the constable to undesirables giving them thirty days notice to get out of town. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Gage of Saybrook, Ohio, were weekend visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs C. V. Shakespeare, Munroe Palls Mrs. Gage was formerly Miss Pearl Klinger of Stow. It was Mrs. Gage who sang the beautiful contralto solo for us Sunday morning. Those who celebrated their birthdays last Sunday by contributing to the birthday fund are as follows: Mrs. Prank R. Bishelp, jane Henderson, Mona Shuman. Eugene Lowe, Ned Brenner and Ruth Ilene Monteith Erratum: Mr. Prank Green corrects us. The town hall in place of being built in the eighteen forties was built in '1868. This was the year Prank Green was born. The ne w commander of the Roger A. Moore Post, Mr. Conrad Meyers and his wife entertained the post members and their families at a masquerade party at Marhoffer hall last Wednesday evening. About two hundred attended. A very pleasant evening was spent playing games and dancing. 11 An evening session of the Stow Public schools is being planned for this Friday evening. The parents are invited to attend. (It will probably be past history when you read this announcement.) Two toys from Scout Troop No 15o were recently advanced to the rank of Eagle Scout at a Court of Honor held at the Palls Hi school Saturday, October 26th. These boys are Richard Cundiff and Paul Monteith. TO THE CITIZENS OF STOW TOWNSHIP The Stow Volunteer Fire Department in appealing for the passing of the Fire Department Bond Issue, wish to call attention to the following facts: Through the efforts of the members and through the subscriptions and donations made, the department is now recognized as one of the best volunteer departments in the state of Ohio. Over $6000.00 has been raised and spent to date, as payments on equipment and building, salaries of two drivers, insurance on equipment and members, electric current telephone service, heat, chemicals, supplies and what not. By the passing of the Fire Department Bond Issue, it will be possible to pay off the still outstanding indebtedness of $5000.00, continue the good work already started and put the cost on a more equal basis by having every one pay his share. In Stow Township alone during the year 1934, there were 49 fire calls at which 703 hours were.spent in Fighting fire^. So far in 1905 there have been 28 fire calls at which 416 hours havj been spent in fighting fires, The members, with the exception of the two drivers, donate their time and often ruin their clothes in order that the township may havo proper protection. The passing of the Fire Department Bond Issue will not provide for additional equipment, tut will be the means of paying for the equipment now in use, and the continuance of the present service.
