The period ends with the 9 th of Av, the day both Temples were destroyed. 17 th of Tammuz (Sunday July 8 th ) Fast starts Shacharis Mincha Fast ends 5:14 a.m 7:00 & 8:00 a.m 8:10 p.m 9:18 p.m During the Three Weeks No weddings are held We do not listen to music We avoid all public celebrations We do not cut our hair or shave (if one needs to shave for business, the Rabbi should be consulted Thursday night, July 19 th is Rosh Chodesh Av. Rosh Chodesh begins a period called The Nine Days.
