The Retreat House News The Spiritual Center of Maria Stein, 2365 St. Johns Road, Maria Stein, OH 419-925-7625 office@spiritualcenter.net Our Mission We are Christians dedicated to serving the Lord, each other, families, parishes, and communities. We believe in God the Creator, His son Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit, who guides us through the magisterium of the Catholic Church with its scripture and traditions and through the intercessions of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Through the Spiritual Center of Maria Stein, we provide opportunity for spiritual growth, social development and community service. We will do this through facilities, staff, and programs. May, June, July, August Summer Edition 2015 Summer at the Spiritual Center of Maria Stein is going to be a busy time! We have many new events this summer that we encourage you to look into. For youth in grades 1-5 there s Kids For Christ taking place each Tuesday in July. There will be a new sports camp for junior high youth sponsored by Federation of Christian Athletes, as well as a two day junior high camp called Unplugged sponsored by Northern Network. We are also excited to announce for the first time that there will be Discipleship Week (sponsored by NET Ministries) for high school youth. Aside from these events, there will be a band camp taking place one week of the summer as well as many other adult retreats. We look forward to hosting everyone and we especially look forward to Jubliation, our end of summer family event with the C.P.PS. Order to celebrate their 200th Anniversary. The summer will end with a bang...quite literally because we will be closing Jubilation with fireworks on Sunday, August 9th! More information about all of these events can be found on the following pages or on our website at www.spiritualcenter.net. We hope to see you at the Spiritual Center of Maria Stein this summer! This retreat is an excellent opportunity for high school teens and young adults to experience God s love and what it means to live life in the Holy Spirit. The weekend was filled with seven witness talks, praise and worship, small group discussions, a large group activity, and fellowship. Saturday afternoon each individual at the retreat had the opportunity to go to confession, spend time in adoration, stand in prayer with their burdens at the foot of the cross, and walk with Christ through the Stations of the Cross. Saturday evening was filled with praise and worship with many healings taking place and gifts of the Holy Spirit received. On Sunday morning, participants at the retreat were given the opportunity to share their testimonies on ways they were healed and how the Lord touched their hearts throughout the weekend. The retreat ended with Mass. This retreat is led by Kelly Horstman and a core team of high school teens and young adults who plan this weekend throughout the year.
