We call it visual communication. Everywhere! Basically, if you can see it someone designed it! There all kinds of careers in the arts, especially graphic design. Some of the most common places we see design are in the following: corporate identity, branding, package or product design, advertising, fashion, editorial, music industry, poster design, and so on. There are so many ways to use graphic design. Often you will see photographs and text (use of words) used together. Therefore, I will require most assignments to have ORIGINAL PHOTOGRAPHY.

Many of you will have the software at home, or, will look at purchasing it. Folks who want to work at home... really need to purchase a flash drive (no smaller than 300mb and I recommend at least 1 gig). A digital camera will be provided for use IN CLASS, but if the student wants to take his/her own photos outside of class, they should use a digital camera. GET AN ACCOUNT... Since I require most projects to contain original photographs, it will be easier if you create an account at www.photobucket.com. You can upload all of your own images from home.
Tardies The tardy policy will be enforced as listed in the student handbook Absent Slips: Student and parent should fill out absent slip prior to turning in work.
