From the Grand Knight: Brothers, Let me just say it has been an amazing two years serving as your Grand Knight, I have enjoyed every minute of it. During my terms we have accomplished a lot; from membership growth to growth in our charitable givens. Together we have put smiles on young kid faces from the joy of keeping them warm during the winter with our coat give away to the different contest we had like the Free Throw Tournament. We have created a certified First Degree Team and on our way to have certified Second Degree Team. We have honored our fellow brothers from a pinning ceremony to help lay them to rest. We have helped keep the grounds that the church owns a place that you are proud to look at. We have honored our Founder by continuing his work of Charity, Unity and Fraternity, and Patriotism. This position has been a life changing experience for me it has shown me what the Knights are truly capable of with the four principles. As I prepare to enter my new title as Past Grand Knight, I know I am truly grateful for the brothers from this council, Grand Knight Bruce Walker along with the brothers from council 677, Grand Knight Bill Kulovitz with the brothers from council 8495, and our District Deputy for District #7 Tim Bair for all the support they have shown me over these two years. The District is going to change again this upcoming Fraternal Year. We are going to go under District #24, with District Deputy Don DeClue. Under this District will be councils 5484, 677, 8495, and 14773. As I leave this office Latonya and I would like to thank you all for what you have done to make the order what is. I will still be around; I will be maintaining my position as Membership Director. I ask all of you to respect this office and ask what you can do to make the order better not the opposite. I believe one has shown that he is willing and able to handle the task of being Grand Knight. This is why I support and want you all to do the same for Brother Kevin Newhall. He has been an active member since he joined last Fraternal Year; he has done a fantastic job as Youth Director and the only one in the council to ever receive the Shining Armor Award since I have been a Knight. Again I would like to thank you all! Vivat Jesus, Karl Stevens 2
Knight of the Month The Knight of the Month for June 2012 is Waylon Cawley The reason I chosen Waylon is because without hesitation he stepped up to the plate for the position of Treasurer. I know he will do a great job. Family of the Month The Family of the Month for June 2012 is The John and Kathy Hermann Family Congratulations to the family of Brother Knight John Hermann, as they have been selected as this month s Family of the Month. The Hermanns have been a part of Most Holy Trinity parish for about 25 years. John and his wife Kathy were married 25 years ago; Kathy s family has long been involved at Most Holy Trinity, and her brother is Fr. Mark Ross, Pastor of St. James Catholic Church in Savannah. John and Kathy have six children: Katherine, who is studying to be a lab technician; John, who is a college student, Abby and Joanna, who attend Lakeside High School; Gracie, who is in middle school; and Patrick, who is in fourth grade. The older children have all been altar servers at Most Holy Trinity. John began working as a general contractor about five years ago, following a career in wholesale beverage distribution. Kathy, after spending about 24 years as a stay at home mother, recently became a paraprofessional in Richmond County, serving special needs children from kindergarten through fifth grade. The Hermann family is clearly devoted to service. And when asked what draws them to Most Holy Trinity, John emphasized the parish s strong sense of tradition. 3
Knight of the Year The Knight of the Year for 2012 is Darvin Hagen The reason I have chosen Darvin for the 2011-2012 fraternal year is because for the past year this knight has stood out more than any other. He has gone the extra mile without being asked. I Thank You Brothers for all you have done and will do. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!!!!!!!! Birthdays May June 6 th Glenn M. Faithful Navigator s Report Sir Knights, Even though I am leaving the Grand Knight position, I am still maintaining my position over the Fourth Degree as the Faithful Navigator. These past months have been truly patriotic. We have honored fallen Sir Knight; we have continued to grow with new Fourth Degree Members, we have brought life back into this assembly. I have honored Sir Knight Sirius Bontea with the Patriotic Service Award: for those who don t know Sirius is active military and had been deployed for one year. I ask all you pray for his safe return. Men we have a chance to receive the Civic Award if we do two more Patriotic Acts as an assembly. Let s make this happen. This month we should have four new Sir Knights, who shall receive this honor in Lilburn, GA on the 23rd. If you are a fourth degree and are able become more active in the color corp. Vivat Jesus, Karl Stevens 8
