Understanding what Immersions are all about Part 2 Gen. 1:1 In a {the} beginning Alahiym created the heaven and the earth. Gen. 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of Alahiym moved upon the face of the waters. Gen. 1:3 And Alahiym said, Let there be light: and there was light. Patterns Spirit Water Light The spirit can move either before the waters or during the waters All things brought forth from the earth are cleansed and declared very good by Yahuah. We have our pattern of baptism displayed in the gathering together of the waters in B rashiyt [h] 1:10, AFTER that, the bringing forth of light. Gen. 1:9 And Alahiym said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. Gen. 1:10 And Alahiym called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and Alahiym saw that it was good. What I like to point out here is the word for gather together {of the waters} is a (from the root place, Collecting.[מ ק ו א כ once,מ ק ו ח [once,(ק ו ה (1) prop. expectation, hope, confidence, 1 Ch. 29:15; Ezr. 10:2; 1Chr. 29:15 For we are strangers before you, and sojourners, as were all our fathers: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is none abiding. Ezra 10:2 And Shechaniah the son of Jehiel, one of the sons of Elam, answered and said unto Ezra, We have trespassed against our Alahiym, and have taken strange wives of the people of the land: yet now there is hope in Yashra al {Yisrael/Israel} concerning this thing. Also the person confided in, used of Alahiym, Jer. 14:8; 17:13; 50:7 ESV version. (2) a congregation, gathering together (from the root ק ו ה Niph. to be gathered together). (a) of water, Gen. 1:10; Exod. 7:19; Levit. 11:36. (b) a host, a company of men and animals, as horses. Summary of definitions in scriptures that maybe of interest. Hope, abide, expectations, confidence, wait, and gather together, congregation. All definitions here are what we look for in the immersion. Once everything was cleansed and came out of the water, Yahuah called it good {functional}. Gen. 49:18 I have waited for your salvation, O Yahuah.
The waiting and the hope can be read as well in the book of Romans: Rom. 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the esteem which shall be revealed in us. Rom. 8:19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waits for the manifestation of the sons of Alahiym. Rom. 8:20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who has subjected the same in hope, Rom. 8:21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the esteemed liberty of the children of Alahiym. Rom. 8:22 For we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now. Rom. 8:23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the first-fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. Rom. 8:24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man sees, why does he yet hope for? Rom. 8:25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Notice that the creation waits for the manifestation of the sons of Alahiym. This is the same pattern in the creation story. There was no one to till the ground. They were created first, but needed the son of Alahiym to till the ground and his Ishah. Sha ul {Paul} teaches us that the creation is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of Alahiym as we all wait for our new bodies. In the end, we will be resurrected with our new bodies as a new heaven and earth emerge with theirs. Is. 65:17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. Is. 66:22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, says Yahuah, so shall your seed and your name remain. 2Pet. 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwells righteousness. Rev. 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. Back to the creation story Something happened before the Spirit of Yahuah moved over the waters. Gen. 1:2 And the earth became {was} waste {תהו}, and empty {בהו} ; and darkness upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of Alahiym moved upon the face of the waters. Quick point. Notice that a flood must have happened, and Yahuah must have purged it by water. Notice wickedness resurfaced and Yahuah had to wash the earth again during the time of Noah. Then Yahuah says, next time it would be by fire. Notice Sodom and Gomorra. This pattern starts all over again.
Yashra al {Yisrael/Israel} goes the sea of reed picture of an immersion. 1Cor. 10:1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that you should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 1Cor. 10:2 And were all immersed unto Mushah {Mosheh/Moses} in the cloud and in the sea; 1Cor. 10:3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat; 1Cor. 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Mashiyach. Next we are told to be immersed by water. What is the next stage? A fire immersion even for the whole earth. 2Pet. 3:7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of wicked men. What happened that Yahuah had to have the Spirit hover over the waters and then all things from there was considered good? Is. 45:18 For thus says Yahuah that created the heavens; Alahiym himself that formed the earth and made it; he has established it, he created it not in vain {תהו}, he formed it to be inhabited: I am Yahuah; and there is none else. The Hebrew word here is the identical word used in meaning confusion, or emptiness, or waste in Gen. 1:2. Then it became that way after it was created. Now, what could have caused that confusion that disorder? Sin. Sin causes confusion, and disorder. The things that happened to the earth and creation is a pattern or a parallel for what Yahuah will do with His people. (1) Washed them {Faith and Belief {If you do not believe. John. 8:24} (2) Give them His spirit {Guidance, Direction, the seal} (3) Give them light {His Word, Law, Commandments Statues, Judgments} (4) Give them seed {Word, Truth} (5) Cause them to produce fruit {Righteousness Witnesses} (6) Gather them when the harvest is rip {His People} (7) Inheritance Garden Paradise etc. {Kingdom} Out of these seven things the First 3 are the core things needed. Without these things, you cannot enter His house. These things are what saves you, and seals you. Hab. 2:4 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith. 2Th. 2:13 But we are bound to give thanks always to Alahiym for you, brethren beloved of Yahuah, because Alahiym has from the beginning chosen you to salvation through purification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
Mark 16:16 He that believes and is immersed shall be saved; but he that believes not shall be damned. John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come. Eph. 1:13 In whom you also trusted, after that you heard the word of truth, the goodnews of your salvation: in whom also after that you believed, you were sealed with that Set-apart Spirit of promise, Eph. 4:30 And grieve not the Set-apart Spirit of Alahiym, whereby you are sealed unto the day of redemption. Psa. 119:105 NUN. Your word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psa. 119:130 The entrance of your words gives light; it gives understanding unto the simple. Prov. 6:23 For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life: If we do not learn these fundamental concepts we will be lost in understanding His plan. Eph. 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as you are called in one hope of your calling; Eph. 4:5 One Sovereign, one faith, one immersion, Eph. 4:6 One Alahiym and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. Eph. 4:7 But unto every one of us is given favor according to the measure of the gift of Mashiyach. The understanding of an immersion thus far deals with becoming one. When you dip in the water you are believing you are becoming one in Yahuah. Mashiyach is the process in which Yahuah choice to make these things happen. It is not just merely the Son, but other pieces such as the Spirit and His word. John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickens; the flesh profits nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. Psa. 119:50 This is my comfort in my affliction: for your word, has quickened me. Psa. 119:9 BETH. Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to your word. Eph. 5:26 That he might purify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
Matt. 3:11 I indeed immerse you with water unto repentance: but he that comes after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall immerse you with the Set-apart Spirit, and with fire: Is. 4:4 When Yahuah shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning. Psa. 102:22 When the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve Yahuah. In the Etymological Dictionary of Biblical Hebrew, the word dabar דבר means to gather into one. It is the Hebrew word used to express the gathering of the thoughts, desires, motivations and will of Alahiym all that takes hold of His word. Water immersion is an outward obedience of what is on the inside. It is to water the seed in our body which is the Word of Alahiym. Alahiym first must cleanse the Most Set-apart Place, our heart in our tabernacle, Then He moves to the Set-apart place, our mind and soul. Lev. 8:5 And Mushah {Mosheh/Moses} said unto the congregation, This is the thing which Yahuah commanded to be done. Lev. 8:6 And Mushah {Mosheh/Moses} brought Aharoon {Aharon/Aaron} and his sons, and washed them with water. Here are some things to consider. Why did the priest and their sons have to be washed with water? It was an outward thing, but it was also for them to be considered clean, so that they can minister in the temple. All Yashra al {Yisrael/Israel} could not be in this position. If we are wanting to meet Yahuah in our temple we should do the same principles, so that we can have His presence inside of us. The Menorah or the light inside of us will burn, the Spirit will lead and guide, but we should consider what patterns, and what the Word has commanded us to do.
