COVENT GARDEN COMMUNITY CENTRE ART CLASS, CHAIR YOGA & BRIDGE CLUB @ Art Class On Tuesday mornings at there is an Art Class you don t have to be an experienced artist to join in! The class is FREE but contributions are requested at times to purchase new art materials. Tuesday & Thursday 1pm to 4:30pm hosts a Bridge Club. New players are welcome - you do have to know how to play however! Thursday mornings from 10am to noon is Chair Yoga gentle exercise to increase your flexibility and stamina. This is also a FREE class, just drop in and join. THE QUIZ Wednesday Evenings - 7:30pm for THE QUIZ! Only 1 per person and the winning team wins a 50 bar tab - and other prizes yet to be divulged! SWISS CHRISTMAS FAIR 26th November 2016 THE SWISS CHURCH LONDON History at the Swiss Church War, Women and Wounds: Endell Street War Hospital and Beyond Thursday 6th October, 6:30pm @ SWISS CHURCH 11AM - 4PM, Swiss food, products, gifts etc During the Great War, women tended the sick and wounded as doctors, nurses, VADs and hospital visitors. In this history of service Endell Street Military Hospital, set up in the old St Giles Workhouse, was unique not only in being an official military hospital run by women but also a militantly suffragette hospital. This talk focuses on what made Endell Street so special and looks at the wider context of women in wartime medicine. A talk by Kevin Brown, Archivist at Imperial College. CAMDEN COMMUNITY CONNECTORS (CCC) Camden Connectors Community Camden Community Connectors (CCC) is a new project working across Camden to tackle social isolation and loneliness affecting older people. They are part of the Aging Better in Camden programme and one of 14 programmes funded through the Big Lotter s Fulfilling Lives, Aging Better Programme. Be the Voice of Older People in your community Camden Community Connectors (CCC) & Trust are looking for individuals who are over 60 to meet regularly and represent the views of local older people. BLOOMSBURY CENTRAL BAPTIST CHURCH (BCBC) Tuesday Meet & Eat Every Tuesday from 10:30am to 3:30pm Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church host a social day. Free entry and tea and coffee - then chat with others or play board games etc. There is a lunch served at 12:30 which costs 2.50, with a weekly speaker or activity. Please note the lunch is not taking place on 20th or 27th September. Sunday Roast Every Sunday - from October onwards - there is a Sunday Roast, served at 1pm Sunday Roast costs 5 or 4 if you are unwaged. We are always looking for volunteers to help with both of these events, both to cook and to serve so get in touch and volunteer! MEET & EAT TUESDAY Organ concerts are the 4th Saturday of every month from 4pm with refreshments afterwards. Concerts are FREE but a collection of donation to cover expenses. Evening recital programme begins in October. These classical concerts are free and feature a variety of artists from London music colleges.
