jx j ÄÄ axäxü YÉÜzxà Please join us on September 11, 2017 as we honor all the brave men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty 16 years ago during the horrific attacks on our beloved Nation. Our Annual Blue Mass will be celebrated at 11 am There will be no 8:30 am Mass celebrated on 9/11. HELP FOR HOUSTON In our efforts to assist our brothers and sisters in Houston and other impacted areas by Hurricane Harvey, we have decided to donate a good portion of the contents of our Thrift Store, especially in the way of clothing and shoes, small appliances, and other pertinent items of great need. We are asking for assistance with packing-up items, as well as soliciting for large boxes (bins) to be used for packaging and transport. The more hands we have the better, and if your son or daughter has need of service hours, this is an excellent opportunity to obtain them, while receiving so much more, knowing you participated in a relief effort to help others. Please drop-off any boxes and bins to be used in this effort to the Thrift Store during normal hours of operation. We will then gather on Saturday morning, September 9 at 9am (following Daily Mass) in the Thrift Store. Coffee and donuts will be available. Thank you and God bless you! Glenmary Home Missions We welcome Father Donald Tranel of the Glenmary Home Missioners, who will speak at all Masses this weekend on behalf of the home mission work of Glenmary priests, brothers and coworkers. Father Don was ordained as a Glenmary priest in 1988. He has served as pastor in Glenmary mission parishes in Georgia, Mississippi, West Virginia, Arkansas and Oklahoma. His most recent assignment is Director of Development at our Headquarters in Cincinnati. This special collection is our opportunity to support evangelization in the home missions. Those who do not respond in today s collection can make their offering in a designated envelope next weekend. The 2nd Collection this weekend will be for the Glenmary Home Missions Please be generous!

Please consider committing to a weekly Holy Hour of Adoration of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament and receive the myriad graces and blessings. As the Mother of God, or Theotokos in the Eastern Churches, Mary deserves our reverence and gratitude for the gift she gave us with her "Yes" to God. Sometimes Catholics are accused of worshiping Mary by Protestants. Cardinal Arinze has just written a new book that explains: Mary's place in Scripture and the life of the Church. Mary's place in the Mass. Historical examples of veneration from the saints. Current forms of veneration. How to evangelize through our reverence of Mary. Three prayers to Mary all Catholics should know. (You may never have heard of the second one). Marian Veneration - Firm Foundations is available at Caritas Religious Gift Shop.
