From Our Pastor... Today s feast of Epiphany invites us to become more aware of all the ways that God reveals Himself to us in our daily lives. I notice God s love for me right here in our parish as I see so many of you as living witnesses to His care and support. I am truly grateful for the ways you show that love to me and to one another. As we begin a New Year together, I invite you to be more aware of God s epiphany of His love in all the people around you, both in your fellow parishioners and in your own family. Sometimes we get too comfortable and take for granted the very people we love the most and treat strangers more gently than our own family. The star of this feast reminds us to be a true LIGHT for others that directs them to Christ. Let us each make a conscious choice to be a person of LIGHT in every conversation and relationship. In our world of so much darkness gossip, greed, petty rivalry, grudges we have to make an extra effort to avoid dark conversations and relationships and live only as a person of God s light! We will celebrate God s Star of Wonder and Light in a special way this year with a wonderful musical event tonight, led by our three choirs and instrumentalists. We are privileged to host the performance of Amahl and the Night Visitors, which is a beautiful story of faith. Bring your friends, nieces and nephews, and/or children and grandchildren to this heartwarming musical event to celebrate God s Light in our life. Thanks so much for your Christmas prayers, cards, and gifts! God s Light be with you, Fr. Please place any loose change or dollar bills in them and return them at Mass on January 23/24. The proceeds will benefit Fontebella, a maternity home for women in need. The collection date also coincides with the March for Life in Washington, DC. Please pray for all the marchers, our elected representatives and Supreme Court Justices, and our nation. I also ask that we all pray for Fontebella s ministry and for everyone who is considering, has gotten, or performed an abortion when we encounter them, may we wrap them in God s embrace and support them with mercy, love and community.
