In 19 17 the old tombstone in Christ Church, The records of the Town Clerk of the City of Bristol and sworn to by him state Bartholomew Penrose shipwright was ad,, m itted to the Liberties of that City on April 2 6 th for the purpose of marrying 16 7 0 ( oro,, thy daughter of ( illiam Lancaster that their, ; son James was admitted to the Liberties of,, the same City ( ebruary 2 0th 1 6 8 9 that their,, ; son Thomas was admitted to the Liberties of,, the City, June 3rd, 16 9 3 ; that their son, Bartholomew, the emigrant, was engaged in ship building in Bristol in 1 6 9 0. Bartholomew Penrose died in Philadelphia, Pa., and was buried 19 November 17 1 1, in Christ Church burying grounds. ( See Church Register. ) 5.
