It is bittersweet for me to announce that Arthur Dhanagom, our parish Business Manager, is leaving us to work at Holy Spirit Parish in Annandale a great opportunity for him! Two years ago, Arthur and I inherited the parish in the worst financial shape in our diocese, and he has helped put us on a sound financial footing. For Arthur as for all of our excellent staff it has never been just a job, but a way to contribute to the Gospel mission of our Church and parish. He will be missed. At the same time, we are looking for a new Business Manager; if you or someone you know may be interested, please check out our ad at: CatholicJobs.com HOLY LAND PILGRIMAGE. Mark you calendars: I will be leading a parish pilgrimage to the Holy Land during the second half of March, 2017! Save the date and your pennies to experience what St. Jerome called the Fifth Gospel. More information will soon be forthcoming VACATION & VOCATION. All of the baptized share in the vocation in Jesus call to proclaim (prophetic vocation), to celebrate (priestly vocation) and to live and serve (shepherding vocation) the Gospel. Enjoy the Summer time and breaks, but don t take a vacation from you vocation! Keep sharing (with your neighbor), celebrating (weekly Mass and regular Confession) and living (the Commandments and serving the needy) our faith at all times! I remain your servant in Christ Jesus, Father Don Please note that, due to the new Mass schedule, our office will be open on Sundays from 9 AM to 12 PM (noon).

Instead, parishioners may now help the needy served by our Parish Charities by giving online using Faith Direct to make a one-time or recurring gift to "Parish Charities," or by using the monthly "Parish Charities" envelope and placing it in the Sunday collection Money Counters Please consider helping us count our weekend collections. On a basic level, it means attending Mass faithfully on Sundays, since we practice our faith by celebrating it in Word and Sacrament. Indeed, our faith, hope and love are expressed concretely in the way we live, including observing the Commandments, like the 3rd Commandment to Keep holy the Lord s Day. Since the celebrations of the Sacraments are not mere family or social occasions, but celebrations of faith for active believers, those who seek to have their children baptized or to serve as sponsors ( godparents ) for Baptism or for Confirmation, as well as those who wish to begin preparation for Marriage, must demonstrate that they are faithful, practicing Catholics who have been registered and attending Mass regularly at the parish for at least three months, and who are leading lives of faith.
