NMI: Nazarene Missions International Mrs. Becky Hancock, President 504 W. Angela Circle Goodlettsville, TN 37072 E-mail: mhbethel1@juno.com He is risen! He is risen! Tell it out with joyful voice! He has burst His three days prison. Let the whole wide earth rejoice! (from a 19th century hymn) As I write on this rainy Good Friday morning, I am thankful for the cross. Romans 8:3 NCV says, By sending His son as an offering for sin, God used a human life to destroy sin. I am also grateful to know the rest of the story that He lives forever! Holy week is glorious! Cuba was awesome for 27 Tennesseans in March! I know many of you were praying for our teams. God blessed us all. The first week part of the cement roof was poured on the church. I climbed the scaffolding to see it when I arrived. They lifted all that cement from the ground up to the roof of the second story by bucket brigade! Moving bricks and rock, mixing cement, and digging holes were our tasks the second week. Dr. Leonard was the king of digging holes! My favorite times were helping the Cuban ladies in the kitchen, trying my Spanish, and visiting church members in the neighborhood with the pastor s wife. My thoughts about our partnership and the people there are best expressed in Philippians 1:3-5 TM Every time you come to mind, I break out in exclamations of praise to God. Each exclamation is a trigger to prayer. I find myself praying for you with a glad heart. I am so glad that you have continued on in this with us, believing and proclaiming God s Message. I hope that you are keeping Camaguey, Cuba on your prayer list. Applications for teams going this fall and December and next February are now being taken! Last Sunday I visited Sumner County Living Springs to help them begin an NMI ministry. I told them the first priority was to have someone from their church GO! If every church had someone going on mission trips every year, I think NMI goals would be easy for every church! We have several local churches which go on their own as well as the district trips. In fact, Erin Caslar, NMI president from Trevecca Community, has asked me to tell you they are eager for more folks to go with them to West Africa this October. Many of you have a dream of visiting that great continent and this may be the time to sign up! Tim Eby is a great missionary and will be working with this team. It won t be long and summer will be here with all the district events we enjoy. Mark your calendars now: Children s Mission Jamboree ~ Saturday June 1 General NMI Convention in Indianapolis ~ June 19-21 Tennessee District NMI Convention ~ Tuesday evening & Wednesday, July 9-10 with David and Shelly Webb
