The God Who Is lways Faithful Page 8 Lesson Example for Week 1 (Before teaching, consider using pictures or figures of Noah and the rk. The Big Picture Story Bible is very helpful here. Be sure to focus on God s faithfulness to Noah and that God fulfilled His promise rather than on the animals.) You might begin as follows: Today I m thankful that God is always faithful. That means He always does what He says He will do. God always tells the truth. When God says something, we can know it is true. By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith. Hebrews 11:7 The Bible tells us about a man named Noah. Noah was God s friend and God told Noah about some things He was about to do. God said that He was angry about people s sin and that He would send a big flood to kill all the people who didn t love God. There would be so much water that even the mountains would be covered. Do you think God was telling the truth about the flood? Yes, he was! God also said that He would save Noah from the water. Noah and his family would be safe in the boat God told Noah to build. Did God really do that? Did He really protect Noah and Noah s family when everyone else died? Yes! God was faithful! He told the truth! He did exactly what He said He would do. Water covered all the land and the Bible says in Genesis 7:23, (point to place in Bible) Only Noah was left, and those who were with him on the ark. Then God dried up the water so Noah could leave the boat. He told Noah He would never send such a big flood again. God did what He told Noah He would do. Will He always do what He says? Yes, every single time! Even when it seems too hard, He will do it. Nothing is too hard for Him. He always remembers and will always do what He says. Sometimes we forget that God tells the truth. Sometimes God has to remind us that He does what He says He will do. One way God does that is by sending a rainbow. God puts rainbows in the sky to show us that He remembers what He told Noah, even when we forget. When we see a rainbow we can remember that God is always faithful. He does what He says He will do. Let me show you in the Bible where it talks about God s faithfulness. (Open Bible and point to verse.) Our verse for the week, Hebrews 10:23b says, He who promised is faithful. Let s say it together.
