a letter from Devin... By now you have probably heard that Crestview is expanding. We are teaming up with God to help expand His Kingdom in the Manhattan area. God has blessed us by providing expansions in our attendance, staff, services, opportunities and faith over the past eight years. As His expansion continues, the time has come for us to add buildings and land to that list. We have heard testimony after testimony of those who have had life-changing experiences because of Crestview Christian Church and the message of hope in Christ that is proclaimed here. God has been very good to us! As we prayed and discussed how best to expand, God opened the doors for us to pursue a strategic location and opportunity in one of the fastest growing areas in our community. We understand that God is everywhere. However, we want to make every effort to be in the best possible location for people to come and hear the good news about Jesus! Current demographic projections indicate that within the next ten years, the Manhattan area has the potential to double in size. Much of that growth is going to happen along the Highway 24 corridor between Manhattan and Wamego. An increased population brings more people to our community who will need Jesus Christ in their lives and a church home where they can worship Him. The piece of property we are purchasing is in a prime location to reach out to them. Now is the time to raise the necessary capital to (1) purchase additional temporary space to make the most of our current location, and (2) purchase property for a future relocation to a new facility. That is why we are stepping out in faith, calling our church body to come together to be used by God, and launching a capital campaign which we are calling

strengths of Crestview A CLEAR PURPOSE Everything we do at Crestview revolves around our desire to lead people in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. We believe this is best done by discovering who Christ is, developing our faith in Him, and deploying our church body to serve Him. WELCOMING COMMUNITY Our congregation strives to make everyone feel welcome and loved as soon as they arrive. We want children, youth, and adults to come as they are to worship God, be edified by His Word, and encouraged by a community that seeks to glorify Christ. BIBLICAL, RELEVANT WORSHIP SERVICES Each week, our services are planned with a commitment to honor and proclaim God s word, an emphasis on the redemptive story of Jesus Christ, and a desire to make our services applicable to all people, regardless of their stage of faith. GODLY LEADERSHIP We are blessed with dedicated leaders who are passionate about pursuing excellence as they do their part to see God s kingdom grow in Manhattan. Our leadership, ministry partners, and staff work together to lead with integrity, vision, and love. A COMMITMENT TO OTHERS Each year a large portion of our budget (at least 15%) is given to missionaries and community organizations which are focused on loving God and loving others. We support missionaries who make local, regional, and global impacts for God s kingdom.

where we ve been... In the past ten years, we have seen an abundance of God s blessings at Crestview. As we have prayed for the Lord s guidance for our church, He has responded by drawing more people to His heart through what we do here. The growth over time has unquestionably been His work, and we are excited to see what His plans are for Crestview in the future! BY THE NUMBERS: 71 108 3 144,200 200% 257% baptisms in the past five years (44 in the last two) new members in the past five years (55 in the last two) more full-time staff members at Crestview than in 2002 dollars given towards mission in the past five years increase in average weekly offerings from 2003 to 2009 increase in average attendance from 2002 to 2009 AVERAGE WEEKLY ATTENDANCE 189 231 279 78 100 144 134 148 2002 2003 2004 2005 2006 2007 2008 2009

The church is not a building, but rather a community of believers, and that has become increasingly obvious over the past few years. As more and more people have been plugged into Crestview and entered into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, our church body has continued to expand. However, our building has not! We have come to the point where the efficiency of our ministries has been threatened by the need for expansion. For example, our youth ministry currently meets in a 14 x 14 room that is smaller than many master bedrooms. Also, our whole Elementary program has only 600 square feet to use. (You may have noticed the crowded hallways you have to navigate to get there as well.) Once you get into the sanctuary, you discover that it can hold only 200 people at one time! where we re going... The bottom line is that in order for us to be able to continue growing, we need to have more space. That s why we feel excited and blessed to pursue the opportunities to purchase the land and the modular buildings. The modulars will add 4,000 much needed square feet to our current facility (a 45% increase). The land is 14.22 acres, and it will be the future home of our church. Both are important for our current and future growth! As we pursue these endeavors, we are aware of our motives. We are not obtaining extra space for our selfish ambitions, nor to reach some kind of quota. Rather, it will be a means to an end, a tool that with God s blessing will help us to expand His mission and ministry in Manhattan. Expanding Our View is dedicated to seeing that vision become a reality! FACTS ABOUT THE MODULARS The space consists of two double-wide modulars connected by a breezeway, as well as two large decks. They are 4,000 square feet, which we will use for offices, bathrooms, a kitchen/ snack area, and youth programming. FACTS ABOUT THE NEW LAND Located at the southwest corner of Elk Creek and Excel Road off of Highway 24, east of Manhattan. The property, located by neighborhoods and businesses, measures 14.22 acres. More residential and commercial areas are slated for future development.

from vision to reality We believe it is a blessing and a rare opportunity to be a part of what God is doing through Crestview Christian Church Our church is impacting many lives and families for Christ! Now we have the opportunity of a lifetime to be pioneers to lay the foundation for the future of this church and of God s kingdom in Manhattan. On May 2, we will be asking every family and individual involved with the church to make a one-time gift and a three year financial commitment above and beyond their regular giving. Each person on our Leadership Team will be asked to give sacrificially out of their love for God, His kingdom, and Crestview, and we encourage you to do the same. We would love it if every person were invested in the future of this church and were able to experience the joy of giving sacrifically to God and the blessings that He gives back to us. Of course, prayer is very important in the process, and we ask that you would spend time talking to God about how much you can give. As you pray, consider these questions: 1) How has God blessed me through Crestview Christian Church? 2) Does my giving indicate growth towards spiritual maturity? 3) Am I willing to give generously & trust God to provide for me? The need is obvious. The solution is also obvious, and it will take a lot for us to get there every member will need to contribute in order for us to reach our goal. Let s join together and build a foundation for the future through Expanding Our View!
