Through this annual campaign, we are given the opportunity to support the programs and ministries that benefit so many; education of our children in their Faith, adult and youth programs, social concerns ministries, marriage preparation and the education and support of our seminarians and deacons. Your gift and your prayers will help to make this year s appeal a success. Our parish is asked to raise $67,964 this year for the appeal. Every contribution counts and every dollar that we raise over the stated goal, will be returned to our parish to be used to directly benefit our community here at Our Lady of Victory. Campbell Special thank you to our 8th grade Catechist, Mr. Adrien Ardoin, who worked diligently to prepare the students for this special Sacrament of Confirmation. THIRD SUNDAY OF EASTER A DAY OF RECOLLECTION: COME HOLY SPIRIT : Women of the Columbus diocese are invited to join the Catholic Laywomen s Retreat League Friday, June 2, 1017 from 9:00am to 3:00pm for a day of recollection in the beautiful surroundings of St. Therese s Retreat Center in Columbus. Offered just days before Pentecost, this special event will focus on the Gift of the Holy Spirit, who enabled the disciples to go out and spread the Good News of God s love. Sister Louis Mary Passeri, O.P. a Dominican Sister of Peace, will be the presenter. Her two conferences will encourage those attending, by prayer and reflection, to consider how they can carry out the same mission as did the early followers of Jesus. The offering for the day is $25, which includes lunch, as well as coffee, tea and snacks. Mass will be celebrated and the day will end with the Divine Mercy Chaplet. There will be time for both quiet reflection and discussion. A MASS CELEBRATING THE CENTENNNIAL OF THE APPARI- TIONS OF OUR LADY OF FATIMA will take place on Saturday, May 13, 10:00 a.m., Saint Joseph Cathedral, 212 East Broad Street, Columbus. Cathedral Rector Fr. Michael Lumpe will celebrate the Mass, Msgr. Frank Lane will deliver the homily. Prior to the Mass a Rosary will be prayed beginning at 9:30 a.m. All are invited to this special celebration in honor of Our Lady of Fatima. Pope Francis has granted a plenary indulgence for specific Fatima centennial celebrations; this Cathedral occasion would be one of three ways to receive the plenary indulgence. STATEMENT OF BISHOP CAMPBELL IN SUPPORT OF ISSUE 1: I encourage Franklin County voters to support Issue 1, the Franklin County Senior Services levy, as you go to the polls on Tuesday, May 2. This levy provides ongoing support for seniors to remain safely in their homes through essential services including meals-on wheels, transportation to medical appointments, emergency response buttons, homemaker services, home repair, personal care, adult day care, and a multitude of other programs. Within our Catholic Charities system, both Catholic Social Services and St. Stephen s Community House receive support from levy dollars for their senior programs. BI-MONTHLY HEALING MASS ON MAY 15 AT SAINT JOSEPH CATHEDRAL: A Mass of Healing and Healing Service will be celebrated on Monday, May 15, 6:30 p.m. at Saint Joseph Cathedral, 212 East Broad Street, Columbus. Following the Mass, a Service of Healing will begin with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, Veneration of relic of the True Cross of Christ, followed by an opportunity for each person to speak individually with a priest and receive a prayers of healing for what they seek; the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick will also be available. The Service of Healing will close with Benediction. All persons who seek Christ s healing are invited especially those who suffer with physical illness and infirmities (e.g. cancer and other debilitating diseases and conditions), in addition to those in seek emotional and spiritual healing. All caregivers, family members, and members of the medical community are invited as well. Parking is available at the rear of the Cathedral accessible off East Gay Street; handicap accessible elevator is located in the courtyard (west side of the Cathedral) on East Broad Street. Bi-monthly Healing Masses take place at the Cathedral on the third Monday of the month; during the remainder of 2017 they are scheduled for: July 17, September 18, and November 20.
