They spoke to one another, saying: Where are the seals of the grave? Where is the guard which Pilate sent with great care? And behold, a radiant angel appeared and proclaimed to them: Why do you tearfully seek the Living One Who gives life to all mortal flesh? Christ our God has risen from the dead. He is the Almighty One Who grants to all enlightenment, eternal life, and great mercy. Why do you sprinkle your myrrh with tears, O women disciples? The stone is rolled away, and the tomb is empty; behold, Life has triumphed over Death. The seals give brilliant witness: that the guards of the godless have watched in vain, that mortal nature has been saved by the flesh of God, and that Hades is in mourning. Hasten in joy, proclaiming to the apostles, that Christ, the conqueror of Death, is the first-born of the dead. He shall go before you into Galilee. The myrrhbearing women, O Christ, rose up early and hastened to Your tomb, seeking to anoint Your most pure Body. But when the glad tidings were brought to them by the words of the angel, they hastened to the apostles as messengers of joy. The Leader of our salvation has risen and conquered Death. He grants the world eternal life and great mercy. (from Vespers)

Club 55+ Dance April 21st Tuesday Noon - 3:30 pm Change isn t easy, it has its challenges but always possible Priorities are a necessary part of life When we arise each day, we immediately begin to place priorities on the things we must do. It may be that breakfast occupies the number one spot on our daily list of duties, or perhaps getting to work/school on time is the most important thing (for me, it s that first cup of coffee!). Either way, we unconsciously assign values to the things we do. This is also true in the spiritual realm. We set priorities on worshipping on Sunday mornings,, our personal study habits, giving, evangelism, and so on. Matthew 6:33 instructs us to, "seek first the kingdom of God." The Saviour, through His church, is to have "first call" on our time and talents: Neither our jobs, nor even our families, are more important. Our participation (or lack of it) in spiritual things such as worship, evangelism, and visitation is generally a direct and accurate measure of how valued and important these things are to us. The Psalmist said, "I made hast and delayed not to keep the commandments" (Psalm 119:60). Think about this! Be faithful every day, for we do not know the next day will bring

At this hour, we fervently pray that Your Holy Spirit may inspire men and women in Ukraine to become Peacemakers. May they seek reconciliation and dialogue and end the violent confrontation and killing. May they restore tranquility to their nation and restore human rights, democratic principles and religious liberty to their troubled land. God, our Father, we beseech you to comfort the suffering, heal the wounded and accept the souls of the departed into Your Heavenly Kingdom. And may the Most Holy Mother of God, extend her Blessed Mantle of Protection over Ukraine. And may each of us always live our lives as instruments of Your Peace. What is the Winnipeg Bat Kol Tri-diocesan Committee? It is a Committee made up of representatives from the three Winnipeg Dioceses; Archdiocese of St. Boniface, Archdiocese of Winnipeg and the Archeparchy of Winnipeg. What is the role of this Committee? In a collaborative effort, the Committee; - promotes the study of the Vatican II document, Nostra Aetate and other Church documents on the history and relationship between Christians and Jews - fosters mutual understanding and respect between Christians and Jewish traditions. - promotes Christian study of Torah using Jewish sources. - facilitates the integration of these studies into a Christian self-understanding that respects the Jewish people and reveres the integrity of their traditions Since 2003, the Committee has sponsored many sessions and workshops for the faith community in Winnipeg which attracted an average of 70 to 80 participants. Some of the presenters were: Sr. Maureen Fritz and Brother Jack Driscoll (since deceased) from the Bat Kol Institute, Jerusalem, Bro. Camille Legare, Rabbi Neil and Carol Rose, Sr. Mary Boys, Rabbi Allan Green and Sr. Lucy Thorson. The most recent sessions sponsored by this Committee are on Prophets presented by Rabbi Allan Green, senior Rabbi of Shaarey Zedek Congregation. Sessions are held at St. Mary s Academy at 7:30 P.M. The first in the series of the three sessions was held last Tuesday, April 14 and was attended by 60 participants. The next two sessions are on Tuesday, April 21 and Tuesday, April 28. More information about these sessions was available in our previous three church bulletins. Seven parish members from Holy Family attended the first session. More information regarding the Sessions sponsored by the Bat Kol Tri- Diocesan Committee is available from Vicky Adams, Archeparchial representative.
