BIBLE KONNECTION LEADER GUIDE Teaching Konnection Before Kids Arrive The Bible tells you to hide God s words in your heart. When you do that, you re spending time getting to know God. And the more you know God, the more your heart will change from loving your old, sinful ways, to loving God and His ways! That s when the fruit of the Spirit grows in your life! Focus on your friendship with God, and remember the fruit that will come from it by remembering Galatians 5:22-23! Let s play some basketball to help us do that! 1. Set buckets against the wall, three feet apart. 2. Make a tape line 5 feet from the buckets. 3. Tightly crumple cards from the Galatians 5:22-23 Verse sets, and place one set in each bag. Activity 1. Review Verse and Point with the whole group. Verse Galatians 5:22-23 NLT the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control 2. Read Teaching Konnection to the whole group. 3. Seat groups of no more than 21 kids behind the tape line, facing the buckets. Note: If you have more than two teams, they may share buckets. A leader makes sure they get the correct card back after they make the shot. Point 4. Give one bag of crumpled cards to the first kid in each team s line. Godly character comes from God s Holy Spirit. 5. Kid takes out 1 crumpled card. 6. Kid throws it into the bucket. If they miss, leader tosses it back to try again. 7. God s Holy Spirit can produce the fruit of the Spirit in my life, so others can see what Jesus is really like. Bonus 1. Repeat game.
