Each day began with Mass and ended with reflection on their delivery experiences. The students from our parish who participated have identified pots & pans as one of the greatest needs of the families being served, and they are eager to collect these items for families who reach out to My Brother's Keeper for assistance. From August 24 th to September 7 th please bring any gently used or new Pots & Pans to the collection box in the front of Saint Mary s, or Saint Helen s. Thank you in advance for supporting this effort! WEEKLY COLLECTIONS ST. HELEN Offertory: August 17, 2014 $5,202.02 Your customary generosity is most appreciated. THE MONTHLY MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR COLLECTION will be taken up at all of the Masses this weekend and is a very important ingredient for the financial well-being of our parish. All of the monies remain right here, in the parish, and those monies allow us to meet our ever increasing bills and financial obligations. Your generosity to these monthly collections is truly appreciated. COLLABORATIVE COLLECTIONS: Parishioners should know that when making donations via check to the weekly collections, they simply need to make the check payable to their home parish. Regardless of which Mass you attend within the collaborative, if the check is written to St. Helen s it will go to St. Helen s collection numbers and the same is true of St. Mary s donations. This has been, and will continue to be true, for all parishioners using their Parish envelopes and the online payment system. The Collaborative tracks charitable giving (and can provide year-end tax statements) only for those who use parish collection envelopes and/or online giving but not for cash or loose checks (without parish envelopes). SECOND COLLECTIONS: As of January 2015, all second collections within the Holy Mothers Collaborative will be identical. We will have the same second collection in both parishes on the same week so there is uniformity and clarity for our parishioners SCHOOL ON WHEELS TUTORS NEEDED: Make a difference in the life of a student impacted by homelessness by volunteer tutoring one-two hours a week. Locations are in Brockton, Norwell, Weymouth, Randolph, Stoughton. A two part training will be held at St. Helens on Sept. 8 and 10, 6-8pm. Other sessions also available starting Aug. 14. Contact Robin Gilbert, robin@sowma.org. Call 508-587- 9091 for further info.

H M C: Holy Mothers Collaborative St. Mary of the Sacred Heart - Hanover, MA St. Helen, Mother of the Emperor Constantine - Norwell, MA FAITH BASED CANCER SUPPORT GROUP Beginning September 16, 2014 from 6 7:15 PM (Additional gatherings will be November 18, 2014 and January 20, March 17 and May 19, 2015) St. Mary s Parish Center, 392 Hanover St, Hanover, MA 02339 All cancer survivors, male and female, Catholic and non-catholic, are invited to attend. A cancer diagnosis brings many challenges but, through prayer, we can seek the powerful love of Christ, find peace in our minds, and renew our spirits. We will not be discussing medical issues or giving medical advice. Our focus is on prayerful support. The purpose of this group is to have people come together in prayer and fellowship, sharing experiences and offering comfort and support to one another; to make connections and find meaning with others of faith. We will start and end each session with prayer. For more information or to register, please contact Jean Leavitt, facilitator, at (386)295-6402.
