Rotary Club of Simi Valley November 10, 2015 2014-2015 Board of Directors and Chairpersons President, Ginny Hayward President Elect, Jonathan Kurohara Past President, Becky Savell Secretary, Deb Holler Treasurer, Hal Ward Sergeant at Arms Mike McGuigan Club Service, Kelly Gaines Community Service, Christina Orta Membership, Terry Marvin Club Programs, Tristian Rodriguez Foundation, Allan Mann Youth Service, Darryl Nind Youth Service, Sharon Lorkowski International Service, Rocky Rhodes International Service, Sharon Austel Vocational Service, Dan Rosen Vocational Service, Kate O'Brien Newsletter, Jonathan Kurohara Webmaster, Becky Savell Grants Chair, Michele Neff Hernandez Allocations Chair, John Lindsey Attendance Chair, Jack Parfitt Public Relations Chair, Dana, Apple-Coolures Awards Chair, Erin Mayo Darren Kettle gave us an update on the future of transportation in Ventura County. Expect travel time to get rise as road congestion gets worse, particularly on the 101 freeway. Alternatives to the car include the Active transportation (walking and bicycling), the Metrolink and the VCTC Intercity Transit. The Intercity Transit will be able to provide the citizens of Simi Valley transportation to the Ventura County Court House so, we won t have a valid transportation excuse for jury duty. Proposed funding for improvements in transportation are increases in sales and gas taxes.
