Mass Schedule for New Church Many people have shared how being together in one place even though it is a gym has enlivened their participation in worship as we give glory to God. It is a great foreshadowing of what is to come when we move into the new Church in the Fall. The design, size and environment of our new worship space has been governed by the documents of the universal and local Church. These documents are as follows: Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy General Instruction of the Roman Missal Appendix to the General Instruction for the Dioceses of the United States Environment and Art in Catholic Worship Built on Living Stones Every one of these documents call for full active participation by the assembly in Mass. In the new church we will have a good size gathering space where people can be together for conversation and do the business of parish life. This space will finally allow people to talk and share their lives before entering the church space proper. Once we enter the worship space itself, we can have respectful silence for personal prayer before Mass begins and after Mass sends us forth. During Mass we will be close to the sanctuary and each other as we do the work of public prayer. It is exciting and we are joyful. The size of our new Church accomplishes two very important realities; 1) we can seat many more people in a much more intimate space appropriate for how the Church asks us to pray and 2) we can have less Masses for full, lively, prayerful worship. Once we move in the new Church the new weekend Mass schedule will be 4PM Vigil Mass on Saturday. Mass on Sunday will be 8:30AM and 11:00AM. Religious Education as well as other parish formation, training and activities will be in between the two Masses so people can come to Mass before or after participating in any of the above. St. Jude and St. Mary s Liturgy Schedules All St. Jude Daily Masses (Mon-Fri) will be held at 8 AM in St. Mary s Church, Dorrance St. Jude Saturday and Sunday Masses will be held in St. Jude School Gymnasium Monday, 8/7 Ss. Reilly "Beloved: We did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of Our Lord Jesus Christ, but we had been eyewitnesses of his majesty We ourselves heard this voice come from heaven while we were with him on the holy mountain. Jesus selected the three apostles, allowing them to catch a glimpse of His divinity. The scene a mountain, where God met Moses, where Jesus gave the beatitudes in His sermon, provides the backdrop for this special revelation. The voice, echoing the words spoken at the Jordan at His baptism, reveals the special relationship of Jesus with the Father. Peter is witness to it all. This is my Son, my beloved, with whom I am well pleased. May the words spoken on this occasion be a mantra for us, reflecting God s care and love for us. We are His beloved and He is pleased as we strive to live our Christian lives. And like the three, may we open our eyes and see no one but Jesus.
