LEADING WORSHIP TODAY Rev. Ellen Hoadley, Guest Preacher Samuel Springer, Minister of Music Jay Chalfant, Liturgist Susan Minor, Children s Sermon The Chancel Choir We welcome Rev. Ellen Hoadley to the pulpit. Ellen was born in Baltimore to Dallas and Jean Hoadley, the oldest of four children. She was raised as an army brat with all the travel that brings with it. She earned a BA from Florida State University in German, as well as an MBA and PhD in Information Systems from Indiana University. She has recently retired as Professor Emerita in Information Systems and Operations Management from Loyola University in Maryland. Ellen has recently served as the Interim Pastor at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Baltimore and has one more semester to complete her MA in Theology at the Ecumenical Institute of St. Mary's Seminary. She currently serves as the chair of the board of the Corner Community Center in Roland Park. In her retirement, Ellen enjoys mentoring high school students in project management, quilting, and playing MahJongg. FAITH FAMILY ANNOUNCEMENTS Worship & Arts meeting today following worship. We would love someone to take on this one day event with the help of folks who have facilitated in the past. The main responsibility is planning the meal, as the Deacons coordinate the Alternative Gift Table. Decorations, music, and crafts are options, but we re really looking for new ideas. Seeking Nursery Attendants Robin Nemser is looking for volunteers to fill Rosemary Miller's vacancy as Nursery Attendant. You won't miss the sermon, as the service can be heard through the speakers in the nursery. The job is very easy and consists of the following: Expectations for Nursery Attendant 1. Arrive at 10:30 2. If no children are in attendance by 11:00, feel free to go to worship, but sit close to the hallway door in case someone arrives late. 3. Care for the children in the nursery by playing with them, changing diapers, providing comfort, following parents instruction. 4. Obtain parents cell phone number in case they are needed during the service. 5. If appropriate, take the children into the sanctuary during the Moment with Faith Kids, then return to the nursery. More dates will be available for December, January, February and March. 2019 Cuba Encuentro The Presbytery of Baltimore s partnership with El Centro Presbytery in Cuba invites you to attend its 6 th Bi-Annual Gathering to be held February 15-22, 2019. Spend three days as a guest of one of El Centro s 13 congregations, and then gather with the group for four days of celebration, worship, and study. Shredding by Andre Andre Slacum is a Faith Church member who volunteers here at Faith; one of his favorite activities is shredding. He provides a service to Faith Church by offering his shredding services here at the church. Bring your sensitive documents to church and place them in the box in the workroom marked "Shredding for Andre" or give them to Robin Nemser. You will be helping Andre, and he will return the favor to you. Start purging those file drawers! Joys and Concerns may be written before the service in a special book in the narthex. The book will be brought to the minister before the prayer.
